REST API

See API Changelog for a summary of REST API updates and documentation updates in the API Reference.

Subscription Management

Create Multiple Draft Update a Product Amendments via the UI

You can now use the Zuora UI to create draft Update a Product amendments for different rate plans within the same subscription. Previously, you could create at most one draft Update a Product amendment per subscription via the Zuora UI. This restriction did not apply to the REST API.

See Update a Product (Amendment) for how to create Update a Product amendments. You can create at most one draft Update a Product amendment per rate plan in a subscription.

Subscription Management Using Orders

This feature is only available if you have the Orders feature enabled. We are actively soliciting feedback from a small set of early adopters. If you wish to have access to the feature, submit a request at Zuora Global Support.

Zuora now provides a capability to manage complex deals in orders. An order represents an agreement between a merchant and a customer. In an order, you can create multiple subscriptions and make multiple changes to one or more subscriptions at once. All the operations on subscriptions in orders are done by order actions. An order action operates against one subscription. The following types of order actions are supported:

  • Create Subscription
  • Terms And Conditions
  • Renewal
  • Cancellation
  • Owner Transfer
  • Add Product
  • Update Product
  • Remove Product

Zuora calculates order metrics such as Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) and Total Contracted Billing (TCB) when orders take place. Order metrics capture the impact of every change across the whole subscription lifecycle. You can retrieve order metrics and measure billed and unbilled amounts by order. You can also export order metrics from the Orders data sources through Zuora Reporting and Export ZOQL queries. These data sources provide you the detailed information about orders.

With the Orders feature, all subscription operations are performed in orders. See Overview of Orders and Orders Tutorials for more information.

You can view orders via the Zuora user interface. As of the R218 Production release, you can create orders via the Zuora user interface in the API Sandbox environment.

When you create an order via the Zuora user interface, the only order action currently available is Create Subscription. The other order actions are available via the REST API.

Zuora Quotes also supports integration with Zuora Orders. With Zuora Orders turned on, you can tie an order to a quote, manage ramp deals, and access additional charge metrics in Zuora Quotes.

Enhancement to Order Metrics

This feature is only available if you have the Order Metrics feature enabled. If you wish to have access to the feature, submit a request at Zuora Global Support. We will investigate your use cases and data before enabling this feature for you. If you have the Orders feature enabled, you already have the Order Metrics feature enabled.

Order MRR metrics corresponding to discount charges are now supported for evergreen subscriptions. Previously, order MRR metrics corresponding to discount charges were supported for termed subscriptions only.

You can use the Order Mrr data source and the REST API to access order MRR metrics. If an order MRR metric for a subscription has type Discount, there is a discount charge that changes the MRR for the subscription by the value of the order MRR metric.

Billing and Payments

3D Secure for Payment Pages 2.0

This feature is in Controlled ReleaseSubmit a request at Zuora Global Support to get this feature enabled for your tenant.

Zuora now supports Three Domain Secure (3D Secure) for Payment Pages 2.0 to ensure enhanced security and strong authentication for consumers. With this feature, Zuora will perform the 3D Secure check for Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. Currently, this feature is only available for the Ingenico ePayments payment gateway.

When you configure a Payment Page for the Credit Card payment type in the Zuora UI, you can select the Enable 3D Secure check box in the Security Information area to enable the 3D Secure feature.

See 3D Secure for Payment Pages 2.0 for more information.

Support Integration with the Ingenico ePayments Gateway

Zuora now partners with the Ingenico ePayments gateway to provide a gateway integration for credit card payment processing. The integration also supports the Three Domain Secure (3D Secure) transactions for Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards.

See Ingenico ePayments Gateway for more information.

Support Void Transactions When Using the ACH Payment Method in Merchant e-Solutions Integration

Currently, Zuora’s integration with the Merchant e-Solutions payment gateway supports void transactions when using the ACH payment method.

Note that void transactions for the ACH payment method are only supported in the Merchant e-Solutions production environment, but are not supported in its test environment.

Managing Payment Run on Detail Page

Previously, you could only edit, cancel, and delete an ad hoc or a scheduled payment run from the Payment Run list. Now, you can also perform these operations on the detail page of a payment run. This enhancement provides more flexibility in managing payment runs.
