New Zuora Features and Enhancements

Billing

New invoice template parameter added to hide zero dollar line items

In the last release we introduced an option to display charges at either the rate plan or subscription level, summing individual charges up to the subscription or rate plan level on the invoice. In this release we have enhanced this feature with an additional option to hide zero dollar line items.

To hide all the rows where the subscription or rate plan totals equal zero, you must modify your current invoice template by including the new tag <<TableFilter:HideZeroValueRows>>. See Configuring the Subscription or Rate Plan Summary Table for information on how to modify your template.

Instructions and a sample template are also available from within the Zuora application. Navigate to Settings > Z-Billing Settings > Manage Invoice Rules and Templates.

Increased maximum number of charges allowed per invoice

We have increased the default maximum number of charges a bill run can process per invoice from 3,000 to 5,000.

Still max'ed out?

This feature is in Controlled ReleaseSubmit a request at Zuora Global Support to get this feature enabled for your tenant.

If you process more than 5,000 charges per invoice, the controlled release 12k Invoice Charge Max option was increased from 12,000 to 20,000 charges per invoice and renamed to 20k Invoice Charge Max. If this sounds like you, talk to Zuora Global Support to see if this option makes sense for your specific needs.

See Billing and Payment Runs for more information.

Payments

Inquiry call support now available for PayPal Adaptive and Qvalent gateways

When viewing payments using the PayPal Adaptive or Qvalent gateways, there is an option to view the real time status of the payment. While viewing payments that use the PayPal Adaptive or Qvalent gateways, in the Gateway Transaction State field, click Get Latest Payment State to run an inquiry call on the status of the payment.

See PayPal Adaptive Payments and Qvalent QuickGateway for more information.

Orbital gateway optional fields

When creating a payment method via the API, Zuora allows you to pass in optional fields. This functionality now includes support for optional fields supported by the Paymentech Orbital payment gateway.

Zuora APIs

SOAP API

WSDL Version

For Release 171, the WSDL version remains 52.0. See The Zuora WSDL for information about downloading the current version.

REST API

Create Account API now supports Zuora CORS REST

This feature is in Controlled ReleaseSubmit a request at Zuora Global Support to get this feature enabled for your tenant.

A second API has been enhanced with Zuora CORS REST support. Via the Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) mechanism, client-side Javascript calls (using AJAX) can now be made using the Create Account API (POST /accounts), enabling your websites to directly create new customer accounts with credit card details, without transmitting this information through your servers.

For specific instructions on how to generate a signature and token in order to call the Create Account API via CORS, visit the HMAC API page.

For full details on how CORS works and how you can begin to implement customer calls to the Zuora REST APIs, visit the Zuora CORS REST page.

Resolved Issues

Payments

Last Modified Date field value was not getting updated in user interface

When viewing payment transactions, upon modifying payments the Last Modified Date field value was not updating to the UI as it should have been.

The issue was resolved in this release.  See Working with Payments for more information.

Updated accounting code displayed in payment CSV report

When overriding the default the Accounting Code, the updated value was not displaying in the Payments CSV export.

This issue was resolved in this release. If you have Override Accounting Code permissions and updated the Accounting Code, this updated value will display correctly in the Payment CSV export.

REST API

Get account API could not handle account-key values containing a period (.)

When making a Get accounts API request, an error occurred if the value on the parameter account-key contained a period (.). For example:

https://apisandbox-api.zuora.com/rest/v1/accounts/capt.gridiron

This issue was resolved in this release.

Note about the workaround: When this issue was first reported, appending a forward slash (/) to the end of the URL was communicated as a valid workaround. With this resolution, this workaround is no longer valid.

For more information on how to call our REST APIs, visit the REST Basics page in our knowledge center.
