We are pleased to provide you with a summary of our March, 2012 release, including new features and resolved issues.
This release includes the following new features and enhancements.
The following features have been added to Z-Billing and Z-Payments.
In this release, we have added a new user permission to allow you to control access to your product catalog.
Only users who have the role that includes this permission can create, modify, and delete products and rate plans in the Zuora web interface or using the Zuora API. However, all users can still view the product and rate plan information.
By default, this permission is turned on for all existing user roles.
See Managing User Roles for more information about user roles in Zuora.
You can now configure Zuora to send a notification when a data source export process has completed (either successfully or not). You can configure Zuora to send an email notification or an HTTP callout.
See Notifications for more information.
The following features have been added to Zuora Finance.
We have made the following improvements to Z-Suite for this release. You do not need to update Z-Suite to see this improved functionality.
In this release, we have added a new option to allow you to select how you want the Z-Suite sync to update customer account numbers.
See Customer Account Number Update Behavior for more information.
We have enabled additional logic added to capture the raw response from the Zuora data source calls in the sync log if the Enable Debug Logging Advanced Preference is enabled.
Enable this option only be enabled under the direction of Zuora support. Enabling this option can significantly hinder performance when processing a large number of records.
In this release, we have updated the Z-Suite to override NetSuite logic for the due date of an invoice. The due date from Zuora will be used on all NetSuite Invoices created by Z-Suite.
The payment terms in NetSuite will continue to be determined by the customer account.
In this release, we have removed the following NetSuite custom fields that are no longer used. Values contained in these fields have been migrated to new fields. Users will no longer see these fields in NetSuite.
In this release, we have removed the two temporary NetSuite Invoice Date Field Migration and NetSuite Credit Memo Date Field Migration syncs. These processes were introduced in the November release to move users’ text-type fields to new date-type fields in NetSuite. These processes appeared in the Z-Suite View Activity as the final processes of a given sync cycle.
The migration to date-type fields been completed for existing users, and the syncs are no longer needed. End users will not experience any changes.
There are no changes to the Zuora API this month. The current version of the API is 38.0.
See WSDL and API Versions for information about downloading the latest version.
The following issues were resolved in this release.
The following issues were fixed in Z-Billing and Z-Payments.
In some cases, Zuora generated invoice PDFs that were 0kb in size. Users were unable to open these PDFs that were generated from fully functional bill runs.
This issue is resolved in this release.
The following issue was fixed in Z-Suite.
In previous releases, if a user added the same rate plan multiple times in a row on a NetSuite sales order, the resulting Zuora subscription would only have one instance of that rate plan.
This issue has been fixed in this release, and users can now add the same rate plan more than once on a single sales order.
The following issues were resolved in the Zuora API.
In previous releases, we did not validate the length of the product name when users created a product through the Zuora API.
In this release, if you create a product with name longer than 100 characters, the API will return an INVALID_VALUE error ("Name length should be less than 100 characters").
