November 2012 New Features

Overview

We are pleased to provide you with a summary of our November, 2012 release (R158), including new features and resolved issues.

New features

This release includes the following new features and enhancements.

Zuora Billing

The following features have been added to Z-Billing and Z-Payments.

Ability to send email notification to multiple recipients

In this release, we have added the ability to send email notifications to multiple email addresses.

  • On the edit email template and add email template pages, we have added the Both Bill To and Sold To Contacts and All Account Contacts options to the To Email list for all non-tenant-level events.
  • We have also added the CC Email field to allow you to specify additional email addresses.
  • We have also changed the A Specific Email field to Specific Email(s) for all events. You can enter multiple recipients in this field. Use a comma to separate multiple email addresses. For example: a@zuora.com,b@zuora.com

Support for the Qvalent QuickGateway payment gateway

In this release, we have added support for the Qvalent QuickGateway payment gateway. Customers domiciled in Australia and New Zealand can use the Qvalent QuickGateway to process credit card transactions.

See Qvalent QuickGateway for more information about configuring and using this payment gateway.

Support for ACH transactions using the Litle & Co. gateway

Zuora now uses version 8.12 of the Litle & Co. API. This allows Zuora to offer you the ability to accept ACH payments via the Litle & Co. gateway.

Contact your Litle & Co. account manager if you want to enable the acceptance of eCheck/ACH payments.

Pagination added to the View Invoice Detail page

We have added pagination support to the View Invoice detail page. This allows you to view invoice items and taxation items page-by-page, 25 items at a time.

New merge fields for the Bill Run Completion notification events

In this release, we have added two merge fields that you can use to configure the email template used with Bill Run Completion notifications. These merge fields are available in the Select Field list on the Email Template page when you select BillRun in the Select Field Type list.

  • Number of Customer Accounts Processed: Shows the number of customer accounts that were processed during this bill run.
  • Number of Invoices Posted: Shows the number of invoices that were posted during this bill run.

Zuora Commerce

The following features have been added to Z-Commerce.

Z-Checkout support for discount charges

In this release, we have added the ability to create Z-Checkout Hosted Subscribe Pages with Rate Plans that contain one or more Discount Charges.

Discount Charge Support allows you to offer discounts to your customers through Z-Checkout Hosted Subscribe Pages. The full power of our Discount Charge model is now available through the Hosted Subscribe Page functionality, including the ability to offer "first month free" and any number of other discount models.

Resolved issues

The following issues were resolved in this release.

Zuora Billing

The following issues were fixed in Z-Billing and Z-Payments.

DE10158: In an Invoice Detail page with a larger number of invoice items than can be displayed, setting a negative tax value sets the Tax and Total values to 0

In previous releases, if you set a negative tax value for an invoice item that was not displayed on the invoice detail screen (because the number of invoice items was greater than the number that can be displayed), the Tax and Total values would reset to 0.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

DE10159: Invoice detail by subscription group display problem

In previous releases, if the Invoice Detail screen displayed a large number of invoice items, the last invoice item could be truncated.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

DE10071: PaymentMethod.CreditCardAddress1 field should accept only 30 characters

Previously, if a customer using the Orbital gateway included address information that was longer than 30 characters (for the address1 or address2 fields), the gateway would return an error and reject the payment request.

We have fixed this issue, and now truncate the values of the address fields to limit them to 30 characters when we pass them to the Orbital gateway.

DE10116: Improved the Bill Run Completion: Completed Status callout event

In this release, we have improved the callout event Bill Run Completion: Completed Status to work better with automatically posted invoices. If you are using the bill run option Auto-Post invoices upon completion of Bill Run, the callout will be triggered only after all of the invoices are posted.

DE10160: Showing Z-Tax options when Z-Tax is not active

In previous releases, Zuora displayed options that require Z-Tax even if Z-Tax was not active on a Zuora tenant.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

DE10251: Comma symbol not processed correctly in RatePlan Item Edit

In previous releases, editing the unit number of certain types of rate plans could result in the numbers being truncated if the number was 1,000 or greater and included a comma.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

Zuora Commerce

The following issues have been fixed in Z-Checkout and Z-Force.

DE8815: Salesforce.com sync failure

In previous releases, if a Zuora release occurred while a scheduled sync to Salesforce.com was running, the sync would fail and would not restart automatically. The next sync could not start because the failed sync was still considered to be running.

We have resolved this issue in this release. If this condition occurs, the scheduled sync will restart automatically.

In some cases, you might see another sync in the queue. This can occur if a scheduled sync has already started. Z-Force will allow the scheduled sync to complete before starting a new sync.

DE9596: Discount charge can cause Z-Checkout embedded page load failure

In previous releases, Z-Checkout would return an error if you created a Z-Checkout page that used a rate plan that included one or more discount charges that did not have a value for Up to Periods.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

DE10290: Duplicated records are created during migration

In previous releases, migrating from Zuora 360 version 2.3 to version 2.4 would result in duplicate records being created. The first record would not include data (except for the migrated fields), but the charge is linked to this record. The second record would contain all of the data.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

Patch 158.1

The R158.1 release (November 26, 2012) includes internal operational fixes, and the Z-Force Q4 '12 release. See Z-Force Q4 2012 Release for detailed information.

Patch 158.2

The R158.2 release (December 5, 2012) includes internal operational fixes.

Z-Suite Update (December 2012)

The December, 2012 update of Z-Suite includes the following change.

Support for NetSuite International Edition Syncs

We have added a new value to the Z-Suite Advanced Settings Use Standard Invoice Sync option. If you select Yes - NetSuite Int’l Edition, tax-related fields will not be mapped during the Zuora Invoice sync. This differs from the No values in that the subsequent transaction syncs (payment, refund) will continue to run.

See Configure Advanced Settings for more information about the available settings.
