Zuora for Salesforce Q1 2013 Release

Overview

We are pleased to provide you with a summary of our Zuora for Salesforce Q1 2013 release, including new features and resolved issues.

In this release, we have enhanced the Z-Force Order Builder methods, providing the ability to create highly scalable solutions that comply with Force.com governor limits. In addition, we have introduced more flexibility in sync configuration and greater visibility into the payments life-cycle for Salesforce users with the capability to sync refunds to Salesforce.

This release includes Zuora Quotes version 5.9 (February 2013) and Zuora 360 version 2.5 (February 2013).

New Features

This release includes the following new features and enhancements.

Zuora Quotes

The following features have been added to Zuora Quotes.

Ability to update the delta MRR and delta TCV of Amendment quotes

In this release, we have added the ability to update the delta MRR and delta TCV of Cancellation, Renewal, and Update Amendment quotes after the quotes are sent to Z-Billing in bulk using the zQuoteUtil.sendToZBilling().

You can now see the delta MRR and delta TCV information on the detail page of the Amendment Quotes.

Zuora 360

The following feature has been added to Zuora 360. See Upgrading Z-Force 360 for more information about upgrading Zuora 360 to use these new features.

Ability to sync refunds to Salesforce.com

In this release, we have added the ability to view Refunds in Salesforce at the account level. The Refund and RefundInvoicePayment objects will be synced to Salesforce.

Note Note: This is a controlled release feature. Contact Zuora Global Support to learn more about enabling this feature.

See Z-Force Field Reference for more information about the sync and the field mappings between Zuora and Salesforce.com. See Upgrading Z-Force 360 for detailed instructions about upgrading Zuora 360 to configure page layouts to include the new refund sync data.

In the Zuora R162 (March) release, we added the ability to view Payment Methods in Salesforce at the account level. The PaymentMethod object will be synced to Salesforce.

Support for bulk changes to CRM account ID

In this release, we have added the ability to change the CRM ID for multiple billing accounts via the Zuora API.

A Zuora billing account can be associated with a CRM account ID in Salesforce.com. In previous releases, you could change the CRM Account ID only from UI when the Change CRM ID tenant permission was enabled.

See Editing the CRM Account ID for more information.

Z-Force Builder

The following feature has been added to Z-Force Builder.

Use getZuoraConfigInformation to access all Z-Quote Config setting values

Previously, calls to this method would return a fixed subset of the fields actually used in the Z-Quotes configuration. This update changes the underlying functionality so that all fields and values in the Z-Quotes configuration are returned. New configuration fields added in future Z-Quotes versions will be automatically included in this global method.

See getZuoraConfigInformation Method for more information.

Support for bulk updates and deletes of charge groups

In this release we have created a version of the zQuoteUtil.updateChargeGroups() global method that you can use to update multiple charge groups with a single call. We have also have created a version of the zQuoteUtil.deleteChargeGroups() global method that you can use to delete multiple charge groups with a single call.

See updateChargeGroups and deleteChargeGroups Methods for more information.

Resolved Issues

The following issues were resolved in this release.

Zuora Quotes

The following issues were fixed in Zuora Quotes.

DE10413: Cannot display owner transfer amendment information in quote detail page

For users who installed Zuora Quotes and Zuora 360 and enabled the Enable Invoice Owner option in Z-Quotes configuration, in some cases the quote detail page would not display Invoice Owner Transfer amendments.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

DE10431: RecordType of Quote record is not being set correctly

In previous releases, When the Quote Read Only Z-Quotes configuration option was checked, quotes that were sent using the zQuoteUtil.sendToZBilling() method were not set to the Read Only record type after the quote was sent.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

Z-Force Builder

The following issues were fixed in Z-Force Builder.

DE10107: Terms and Conditions amendments for Renewal Quotes are not created

In previous releases, changing the Renewal Term field on a Renewal quote did not generate a Terms and Conditions amendment. When the quote was sent to Z-Billing, Zuora did not have the correct amendment path.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

DE10447: Subscriptions sent to Z-Billing with incorrect start date

In previous releases, when the Salesforce.com org is set to GMT time, when a quote is sent to Z-Billing the subscription's Start Date in Zuora (which is displayed in GMT-8) moves back one day. For example, if the quote's start date is 12/01/2012, the subscription's start date will be 11/30/2012.

We have fixed this issue in this release.

DE10566: Error in sendToZBilling method in Salesforce

In previous releases, when using the bulk version of the sendToZBilling method, subscriptions and quotes that belong to the same Salesforce Account are assigned to the same billing account in Zuora, even if the request data passed to the sendToZBilling method specified separate (or new) billing accounts for the subscriptions.

Subscriptions will now be applied to the Zuora billing account specified in the request data passed to the sendToZBilling method, regardless of the Salesforce Account record that the quotes belong to.

Zuora Quotes release 5.90.2

This maintenance release updates the bulk sendToZBilling() global method to honor the Subscription Name configuration setting instead of forcing all new subscriptions to be auto-numbered by Zuora when they are sent to Z-Billing. Customers who are using the bulk sendToZBilling() global method and want new subscriptions to be named with an autonumber in Zuora should ensure that the Subscription Name configuration setting is set to Auto-number.
