Z-Force Q3 2012 Release

Overview

We are pleased to provide you with a summary of our Zuora for Salesforce Q3 2012 release, including new features and resolved issues.

This release includes Zuora Quotes version 5.6 (September) and Zuora 360 version 2.4 (October).

New Features

This release includes the following new features and enhancements.

Zuora Quotes

The following features have been added to Zuora Quotes.

Ability to create amendment quotes for evergreen subscriptions

In this release, we have added support for creating amendments for both evergreen and termed subscriptions.

The only exception is that we do not support Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) amendments for evergreen subscriptions.

See Creating Amendments for more information about using this feature.

Payment method no longer required when creating a new subscription quote

You no longer need to specify the payment method when creating a New Subscription quote in Zuora Quotes.

Automatically generate an invoice and process a payment when creating a new subscription

In this release, we have provided you with the option to generate an invoice automatically and process payments when creating a subscription in Zuora Quotes. If you use this option, the invoice will be generated and the payment will be processed at the time the Quote is sent to Z-Billing.

We have added new configuration settings that you can use to configure this feature. See Populate the Z-Quote Configuration Tab in Salesforce.com for more information.

Ability to hide or show Bill To and Sold To contacts for the amendment and renewal quote creation and review process

In this release, you can hide or show Bill To and Sold To contacts when creating an Amendment or Renewal Quote, or when previewing an Amendment or Renewal Quote. If you use this option, the Bill To and Sold To Contacts are hidden from the New Quote page for Amendment and Renewal quotes, and are also hidden in the Amendment Preview page before the quote is sent to Z-Billing.

We have added a new configuration setting that you can use to configure this feature. See Populate the Z-Quote Configuration Tab in Salesforce.com for more information.

Z-Force Builder

The following features have been added to Z-Force Builder.

Add multiple charge groups to a quote

In this release, we have added the new Apex component List<zChargeGroup> addChargeGroups(List<zChargeGroup> chargeGroups) to give you the ability to add up to 30 charge groups to a quote.

See the ZQuoteUtil global class for more information about using this feature.

Send multiple quotes to Z-Billing

We have also added the new ZBillingQuoteCollection Apex method to allow you to send multiple quotes to Z-Billing.

See sendToZBilling Method for more information about using this feature.

Zuora 360

The following feature has been added to Zuora 360. See Upgrading Z-Force 360 for more information about upgrading Zuora 360 to use these new features.

Payment Sync

In this release, we have added the ability to view and report on payment information in Salesforce.com at the Account level.

Payment Sync synchronizes the data of the following Zuora objects to Salesforce.com:

  • Payment: Payment information, including payment amount, status, and payment gateway information.
  • Invoice Payment: The Invoice-Payment relationship object. A payment can be associated to more than one invoice, and an invoice can be associated with more than one payments. This relationship object stores the invoice amount and refund amount applied by a payment.

We have also added new sample page layouts to support these objects. See Upgrading Z-Force 360 and Z-Force 360 Upgrade: Create and Assign New Page Layouts for information about configuring these new page layouts.

Note: This is a controlled release feature. Contact Zuora Global Support to learn more about enabling this feature.

Resolved Issues

The following issues were resolved in this release.

Zuora Quotes

The following issues were fixed in Zuora Quotes.

DE9254: Unable to load the default product selector page

In previous releases, the default product selector page would not load if  the ReadOnly record type was not available, or if there were more than one custom object with the Quote__c suffix.

We have fixed this issue in this release. If more than one custom object in your Salesforce.com org includes the Quote__c suffix, a "List index out of bound: 0" error will appear when loading the default product selector while creating quotes.

DE9865: Viewing older templates

In previous releases, the Zuora Quotes templates displayed only the 10 most recent templates with no way to view older templates.

We have fixed this issue in this release by adding pagination to the Manage Quote Templates page. You can now use the page controls to view your older templates.

Zuora 360

The following issues were fixed in Zuora 360.

DE9673: Updated type of the Credit Balance field

In previous releases, the Credit Balance field of the Billing Account object was defined as a numeric field.

In this release, this field has been changed to a currency field to be consistent with other key metrics fields.

Z-Force Builder

The following issues were fixed in Z-Force Builder.

DE9672: "Too many callouts" error

When users used a single request to call zQuoteUtil.getChargeGroups(), pass an Amendment(Renewal) type quote's ID, then call zQuoteUtil.updateChargeGroup(), the system exceeded the maximum number of callouts.

We have fixed this issue in this release by caching charge information from zQuoteUtil.getChargeGroups() and reusing it in the QuoteUtil.updateChargeGroup()call.

DE10019: Unable to use the Zuora.zApi.ZSubscribe() call to create multiple subscriptions

In previous releases, the Zuora.zApi.zSubscribe() call was able to receive a single subscribe request.

In this release, the call can receive multiple subscribe requests to create multiple subscriptions in Zuora.
