Configure Opportunity, Account, and Quote page layouts

You must add the New Quote (New) button to Opportunity or Account layouts, and the Edit Quote (New) button to Quote layouts. You must also ensure that specific users who will use Quote Studio can access these buttons.

Although Opportunity and Account tabs are usually the most common place from which quotes are created, the New Quote (New) button can be added to other objects or pages depending on your business needs.

Note: The steps in this article are documented based on the Salesforce Lightning Experience.

Add New Quote button to Opportunity or Account layouts

You must have the New Quote (New) button enabled in the Opportunity or Account layout to use the new quote flow. Take the following steps to add this button to the Opportunity layout:

  1. In your Salesforce org, click the Opportunities or Accounts tab.
  2. Click Setup and select Edit Object. The object manager page for Opportunities or Account is then displayed.
  3. Click Page Layouts in the left navigation menu, and click the page layout you want to update. For example, click Opportunity (Sales) Layout, then the page layout details page is displayed.
  4. From the box at the top in the main region, click Mobile & Lightning Actions in the left pane.
  5. Drag and drop the New Quote (New) button to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.
  6. Click Save to save the configuration.

Add Edit Quote button to Quote layouts

You can optionally enable the Edit Quote (New) button in the quote layout. Take the following steps to add this button to the quote layout:

  1. In your Salesforce org, click the Quotes tab.
  2. Click Setup and select Edit Object. The Quote object manager page is then displayed.
  3. Click Page Layouts in the left navigation menu, and click Quote Layout - Default V8.0 layout. This layout determines the components exposed on the Quote Summary page.
  4. From the box at the top in the main region, click Buttons in the left pane.
  5. Drag and drop the Edit Quote (New) button to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.
  6. Click Save to save the configuration.

Assign necessary Permission Sets to users

After the necessary buttons are enabled, you must ensure that the user who will use the new quote flows has the Zuora Quotes End User permission set enabled. Take the following steps to check and assign the permission set for a user:

  1. In your Salesforce org, click Setup and select Setup. The Setup homepage opens.
  2. Navigate to Administration > Users > Users in the left navigation menu. The All Users page is then displayed on the right.
  3. Select the user who will use CPQ X from the user list, and click the username.
  4. In the Permission Set Assignments related list, click Edit Assignments.
  5. If Zuora Quotes End User is not displayed in the Enabled Permission Sets section, select it from the Available Permission Sets section and click Add
  6. Click Save.
