Dates in Insights

Insights displays and exports all data according to the time zone of your Insights stream.

The time zone of your Insights stream was set when your Insights stream was created. The time zone of your Insights stream is not necessarily the same as the time zone of your Zuora tenant or your local time zone.

All dates and times referenced in this article are intended to be interpreted in the time zone of your Insights stream. References to 00:00 mean 00:00 in the time zone of your Insights stream.

The time zone of your Insights stream applies to all dates and times in Insights. This includes:

  • Dates that you enter in the segment query builder.
  • Dates and times displayed in charts and tables.
  • Dates and times in exported data.

See Insights APIs for information about how the Insights APIs handle dates and times.

Dates and times in Insights are not affected by the time zone of your browser. As an individual team member, you cannot customize the time zone that Insights uses when displaying dates and times to you.

To inquire about the time zone of your Insights stream, submit a request at Zuora Global Support.

Calendar Dates in Charts and Tables

Insights reports values in charts and tables for specific dates. The following example shows a value of 345 reported for 3/14/2017:

In general, each date in Insights represents a particular time period (day, week, or month) starting at 00:00 on that date. More specifically, the meaning of each date in Insights depends on the type of value being reported:

Type of Value Meaning of Date Example
Session count Calendar day. The calendar day begins at 00:00. If 5 sessions are reported for 3/14/2017 then 5 sessions occurred between 00:00 on 3/14/2017 and 00:00 on 3/15/2017.
Event count Calendar day. The calendar day begins at 00:00. If 2 Login events are reported for 3/14/2017 then 2 logins occurred between 00:00 on 3/14/2017 and 00:00 on 3/15/2017.
Attribute value Calendar day. The calendar day begins at 00:00. If an Account Balance of 600 is reported for 3/14/2017 then the last account balance before 00:00 on 3/15/2017 was 600.
Daily metric value Calendar day. The calendar day begins at 00:00. If an Engagement Score of 80 is reported for 3/14/2017 then the Engagement Score was 80 based on data for the period ending at 00:00 on 3/15/2017.
Weekly metric value Calendar week. The calendar week begins at 00:00 on Monday. If Total Sessions per Week is reported to be 48 for 3/13/2017 then 48 sessions occurred between 00:00 on Monday 3/13/2017 and 00:00 on Monday 3/20/2017.
Monthly metric value Calendar month. The calendar month begins at 00:00 on the 1st of the month. If Logins per Month is reported to be 8 for March 2017 then 8 logins occurred between 00:00 on 3/1/2017 and 00:00 on 4/1/2017.
