Manage Account Attributes and Metrics

With the Admin role, you are permitted to perform a variety of administrative tasks related to the Account fields (either Attributes or Metrics) in your Insights tenant.

Update Account Field Labels

Every field in Insights has a Label, which is displayed throughout the product to give Team Members a user-friendly and recognizable name for every field.

  1. Open the Profile and Settings menu in the upper right corner of the page.

  2. Navigate to Settings.
    The Settings page opens and displays each administrative setting on the page.


     
  3. Click on Manage Account Attributes & Metrics.
    A listing of all existing Account fields in Insights is displayed.


     
  4. Click Edit in the Actions column for the field you want to set a new label for.


     
  5. Enter a new Label and click Save.

 

Update a field description

  • Follow Step 1 - 4 above for Updating a Field Label to navigate to Manage Account Attributes & Metrics.
  • Enter text in the Description field.
    A variety of HTML tags are supported in the description field. Click on the "i" icon to view a listing of support tags.
  • Click Save.

Once set, Descriptions are visible in Account List Components, on the Account Identity Page, and in Segment Builder when constructing a Segment.
 

Update a field data format

  • Follow Step 1 - 4 above for Updating a Field Label to navigate to Manage Account Attributes & Metrics.
  • The table below shows different formatting options available in Insights depending on the field types. Formatting options determine how data values for fields are displayed throughout the product for your Team Members.
     
    Data type Available formatting options
    Number
    • Integer
    • Decimal (including number of decimal places)
    • Percent (including whether a value of 1 corresponds to 1% of 100%)
    • Currency (including number of decimal places)
    • Time Interval (including whether the time unit is: milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours, or days)
    Text
    True or False No formatting options apply
    Calendar Date
  • Choose your desired format and click Save.
     

Archive a field

  • Follow Step 1 - 3 above for Updating a Field Label to navigate to Manage Account Attributes & Metrics.
  • Click Archive in the Actions column for the field you no longer want to have visible in your tenant.


    Be careful when archiving a field. It has the following impacts on your Insights:
    • Removes the field from Account List Views
    • Removes the field from Account Identity and Trends
    • Removes the field from Segments that use it as criteria and updates Segment memberships accordingly
    • Removes the field from Segment Metrics and Trends
    • Discontinues synchronizing the field to Salesforce
    • Discontinues field calculations if the archived field is a Calculated Field
