Event Upload

With Event upload, you can upload events which trigger the release of revenue.  

Prerequisites

Perform the following steps before uploading events.

  1. Navigate to RevPro > Setups > Application and click Event Setup.
  2. Click New Event.
  3. Click + to create a new event.
  4. In the Event Details tab:
    1. Enter a valid event name.
    2. In the Event Type field, select the type of the event. It can be any one of the following:
      • Revenue – Only revenue can be recognized or deferred.
      • Cost – Only cost can be recognized or deferred.
      • Hold – Select to release the hold.
    3. In the Process Type field, select the type of the process. It can be any one of the following:
      • By Amount – Event is processed based on the amount.
      • By Percent – Event is processed based on the percentage value.
      • By Quantity – Event is processed based on the quantity.
    4. Select the Cumulative check box if you want to mark an event as a cumulative event. For example, an event is brought in for 25% and again if you are collecting the same event for that line for 30%, the total revenue released for that RC is 30% only.
    5. Click Save to save the details.
  5. In the Mapping tab, define the mapping by selecting the source columns and event columns that you want to have in the template you are going to download.
  6. Click the Order By tab to select the order in which the columns have to be arranged.

Upload Events

To upload events:

  1. Navigate to RevPro > File Upload > Events.
  2. On the Event Upload page, click New Template.
  3. In the Template Definition tab:
    • Select the relevant event name.
    • Enter a valid name for the event upload template and description.
    • Select the Enabled check box to enable the template.
    • Select the Is Review Required check box if you want to manually review the uploaded transaction data before launching the data collection process.
  4. In the File Specifications section:
    • Select the file type. If the uploaded file is not in the specified format, an error message is displayed.
    • Select the date format to validate the date value in the uploaded file. If the date value format in the uploaded file is different from the template, an error message is displayed.
    • Select the start row to identify the row number from which the actual data gets inserted into the staging table from the uploaded file. For example, start in row 2.
  5. Click + to create the template and Save to save the details. The Freeze button appears when you click Save.
  6. Click the Field Mapping tab to view the field names, their label and the type of the data that is entered in the fields. You can view, add, or delete them.
  7. After entering the field mapping details, click Freeze to lock the template so that no changes can be made in the template. The name of the button changes to Unfreeze.
  8. Click Unfreeze to make the template available for editing. Make the necessary changes and then click Freeze.
  9. Select the newly added event template, right-click and select Download Template.
  10. Add the raw data in the template excel.
  11. On the Event Upload page, select the newly added event template, right-click and select Upload.
  12. In the File Upload tab, click Browse to select the CSV file to which you have added your raw data. The selected file name is displayed in the Template Name field.
  13. Click Upload to upload the CSV file to the event template. A success message is displayed stating that the file was successfully uploaded. The newly uploaded file is listed in the Uploaded Files section with the status as Successfully Uploaded.
  14. In the Uploaded Files section, the following details are displayed:
    • File Name – Name of the uploaded CSV file.
    • Download File – Link to download the uploaded file.
    • Status – A success message is displayed if the upload is successful. An error message is displayed if the upload is not successful.
    • Message – Count of the success or failures that occurred while uploading the file.
    • Next Action – This link gets enabled after successfully uploading the file. When you click the Next Action link, the data collection process gets started.
    • Created By – Name of the user who uploaded the template.
    • Creation Date – Date on which the file was uploaded.
