The following table shows the product versions currently released on the Zuora Production and API Sandbox environments.

Environment Current Product Version Release Date Current WSDL Version

API Sandbox R204.4 October 3, 2016 80.0

See Product Versions and Release Dates for more information.

Subscription Management

Enhanced Subscription Preview Through the SOAP API

Previously, if the invoice items were discount charges, Zuora only returned the discount charge information in the subscription preview. It did not show which charge the discount was applied to. Now, the AppliedToChargeNumber field is added to the InvoiceItem object. This new field returns the charge number that the discount is applied to when you preview subscriptions from the Zuora SOAP API.

See InvoiceItem for more information.

Billing and Payments

Display Usage Quantity for Overage Charges in Invoices

Previously, the quantity of units that your customer consumed could be displayed in invoices. But for overage charges, if the customer consumed more than the included units of the charge during the billing period, only the quantity of the included units was displayed in the invoices. The actual quantity of the units that the customer consumed was not displayed in the invoices. Now, you can add the new InvoiceItem.ActualQuantity merge field to your invoice template to display the actual quantity of the units that your customer consumed during the billing period.

See Invoice Item merge fields for more information.

Zuora Multi-entity

This feature is in Limited Availability. If you wish to have access to the feature, submit a request at Zuora Global Support

Zuora now provides a capability to create and manage multiple entities within a single Zuora tenant. An entity can represent a legal entity, an independently operated business unit, or a division. You can structure a multi-entity hierarchy to model your global business organization in Zuora Multi-entity. Each entity is operationally separated from other entities. The users of an entity can perform business operations in a specific entity independently of the other entities.

In a multi-entity hierarchy, you can:

  • Create and maintain a hierarchical entity structure.
  • Share and centrally manage certain business objects to make management across entities easier. Currently, the following objects can be shared across entities:
    • Accounting periods
    • Product catalog
  • Grant user access to one or more entities within a single login, but potentially have different user roles and permissions in each entity.
  • Convert currency amounts into the home currency of the current entity.

Multi-entity is available from the Zuora UI and REST API. For more information, see Multi-entity

See Support Multi-entity in Zuora for Salesforce for information for multi-entity support in Zuora CPQ.

Notification Merge Fields Now Support Tenant and Entity Information

Zuora now supports the following merge fields for administrative notifications:

  • Tenant ID
  • Tenant Name
  • Entity ID
  • Entity Name

The Entity ID and Entity Name fields are only available if you have the Multi-entity feature enabled.

These new merge fields help you understand which tenant or entity an event has occurred in if you use multiple tenants or multiple entities.

See Email Template Legacy Merge Fields for more information.

New Zuora Environment Banner

Previously there was no visibly obvious way for you to tell which Zuora environment you were working in. Now you can turn on a prominent banner across the top of every screen that clearly shows which environment you are working in. The banner reduces the chance of accidentally editing data in your production environment instead of sandbox or services and vice versa.

By default, this feature is disabled in the production environment, and enabled in sandbox and services environments. To manage the feature and set the banner color, from the Profile & Settings menu, select Administration > Manage Tenant Profile.

Zuora for Salesforce Release (Q3 2016)

Multi Entity Support in Zuora CPQ

Zuora Quotes and Zuora 360 support Zuora Multi-entity. More information coming soon!

Additional Term Types Supported in Zuora CPQ

To support additional quote term types in Zuora Quotes, namely, Day, Week, Year as well as Month, Zuora 360 synchronizes the following fields to Salesforce.

Field Synced Zuora Object Zuora 360 Object

Display Quote Charge Detail Metrics on the Quote Documents

Now the Quote Templates include the Quote Charge Detail information. The information is available from Zuora and contains all the charge level billing metrics from Zuora for all amendment types:

  • MRR
  • TCV
  • Delta MRR
  • Delta TCV
  • Billing Total
  • Billing Discount
  • Billing Tax
  • Billing SubTotal

Fields Values Changed on Evergreen Subscriptions

For the Evergreen type subscriptions, Zuora 360 sync operations set the following fields on the Subscription object to an empty string.

  • Zuora__InitialTerm__c
  • Zuora__RenewalTerm__c

If you have any custom code that checks the values in the above fields, update the code to check for an empty string.

Entity IDs Use UUID

The Entity Ids, namely EntityID and ParentEntityID, on the Entity object now use 32-character UUID.

If you are on Zuora 360, Version 3.2+ or Zuora Quotes, Version 7.2+, perform both the Product Catalog Sync and the Accounts and Related Objects Sync to sync over the new Entity ID values to the corresponding object fields in Zuora CPQ.

Current WSDL version: 80

See Zuora WSDL for information on how to check your version and download the latest version.

SOAP API Change History

See Zuora SOAP API Version History for a summary of updates made to the SOAP API in recent Zuora releases.

Date Field Changes as of WSDL 69

Please read this important note before using WSDL version 69 or later.

In WSDL 68 and earlier, 56 Zuora SOAP API date fields are treated as dateTime fields. As of WSDL 69, Zuora will treat these fields as date only fields. These fields are no longer compatible with dateTime values. Date and dateTime values in WSDL 69 are now the same as date and dateTime values in the Zuora application.

Before downloading and using WSDL 69, check to see if your SOAP integration passes or receives dateTime values to or from any of these fields.

The AQuA API is also affected by these date field changes. If you use the AQuA API, you must review the date field changes and take the appropriate action.

See Date Field Changes in the WSDL for more information.

Knowledge Center

We have updated the following Knowledge Center article based on your feedback.

  • An entity relationship diagram for the object mappings between Zuora and Zuora CPQ is now available in Zuora Knowledge Center. See Zuora for Salesforce Object Model to view the diagram.
