Subscription Management

New Response Fields for GET Catalog REST Method

When you use the REST GET method for catalog, the response now includes more fields to show how products and product rate plan charges are configured. The following fields are added as part of the response:

Container New Fields

catalog > products

catalog > products > productRatePlans > productRatePlanCharges

(The prepayPeriods field is only available if you already have the prepayment feature enabled. The prepayment feature is deprecated and available only for backward compatibility. Zuora does not support enabling this feature anymore.)

catalog > products > productRatePlans > productRatePlanCharges > financeInformation

See the REST Catalog for more information.

Billing and Payments

New Merge Fields for Invoice PDF

There can be multiple contacts associated with one subscription owner and invoice recipient. Users can choose how to display the contact information for the subscription owner and invoice owner in their invoice template.

Control Billing Permissions Based on User Role

Now you have the ability to control permissions for account and invoice functions based on user roles. New permissions control which users have the ability to:

  • Modify basic account information
  • Cancel an account
  • Modify, cancel and delete invoices
  • Edit invoice amounts
  • Regenerate an invoice PDF
  • Email an invoice

Set Billing Timing for Billing in Advance and in Arrears

For recurring charge types, customers now have the ability to set the billing timing for billing in advance and arrears. See Billing Timing.

Convert to Multiple Currencies in Data Source Exports

Previously you could only convert transaction amounts into your home currency in data source exports.

Now you can create data source exports that include transaction amounts converted into multiple user-specified currencies. This feature is available when creating exports using the SOAP API and AQuA API.

  • When using the SOAP API, add the ConvertToCurrencies field to the create() call and specify the currencies you want amounts to be converted into.
  • When using the AQuA API, add the convertToCurrencies field to the request and specify the currencies you want amounts to be converted into.

The data source export file will include the converted amount and exchange rate of each currency, as well as other currency conversion information.

Available to all users who have Foreign Currency Conversion enabled. The new fields are only available in WSDL version 78 and later.

See Foreign Currency Conversion for Data Source Exports for more information.

Zuora UI Now Available in French, German, and Japanese

The ability to change your display language is in Limited Availability. If you wish to enable this feature, submit a request at Zuora Global Support. If you do not have this feature enabled, changing your locale does not affect the display language.

The Zuora UI is now available in French, German, and Japanese!

Zuora UI est maintenant disponible en français!

Die Zuora Benutzeroberfläche ist jetzt auch auf Deutsch verfügbar!

Zuora ユーザインターフェースが日本語で利用できるようになりました!

To change the language that the UI is displayed in, navigate to Settings > Personal Settings > Manage Your Profile and select your language from the Locale dropdown menu. Note that the Locale setting also controls how date and dateTime fields are displayed.

See Personal Settings for more information.

Configure Custom Fields to be Read-Only on the Zuora UI

Previously all custom fields were updatable via both the Zuora UI and the APIs.

Now, when creating a custom field, you can optionally select the new UI Read Only checkbox. If selected, the custom field will not be updatable via the UI, but will still be updatable via the APIs. This greatly simplifies certain integration use cases.

Zuora for Salesforce Release (Q1 2016)

Resolved: Nested Tables Showed Merge Field Tags for Empty Inner Tables in Quote PDF Documents

When there was no feature belonging to a product, or when there was no tier belonging to a charge, merge field tags showed in the inner table in quote PDF documents.

Resolved: Canceled Invoices in Zuora not Deleted in Salesforce

When a canceled invoice was synchronized to Salesforce, the invoice was not deleted from Salesforce in several corner cases.

Latest WSDL version: 78

See Zuora WSDL for information on how to check your version and download the latest version.

SOAP API Change History

See Zuora SOAP API Version History for a summary of updates made to the SOAP API in recent Zuora releases.

Date Field Changes as of WSDL 69

Please read this important note before using WSDL version 69 or later.

In WSDL 68 and earlier, 56 Zuora SOAP API date fields are treated as dateTime fields. As of WSDL 69, Zuora will treat these fields as date only fields. These fields are no longer compatible with dateTime values. Date and dateTime values in WSDL 69 are now the same as date and dateTime values in the Zuora application.

Before downloading and using WSDL 69, check to see if your SOAP integration passes or receives dateTime values to or from any of these fields.

The AQuA API is also affected by these date field changes. If you use the AQuA API, you must review the date field changes and take the appropriate action.

See Date Field Changes in the WSDL for more information.
