Discount Enhancements

We have made the following enhancements to discounts through the UI and APIs:

The following SOAP API fields and objects are newly added to support this feature:

The following REST API fields are newly added to support this feature:

Contact Snapshot

Previously, only the latest contact information of the customer accounts was preserved in Zuora. If you updated the contact information, you could not find out the previous contact information any more. Now, the contact snapshot is supported to preserve the historical contact information. When an invoice is posted, the Bill To contact and Sold To contact of the invoice are preserved in the contact snapshots.

To capture contact snapshots when invoices are posted, you must enable the following new billing rule:
Preserve snapshot of bill-to and sold-to contacts when billing documents are posted

The contact snapshot is available for query using the SOAP API and Data Sources:

  • SOAP API: The ContactSnapshot object
  • Data Sources: The Invoice and Invoice Item data sources now have joined objects called BillToContactSnapshot and SoldToContactSnapshot

Legacy PDF Generation Service Deprecated

Effective immediately, Zuora no longer supports the legacy PDF generation service. For any support requests related to this service, Zuora Global Support will advise you to update your invoice templates. The legacy PDF generation service does not allow you to use the latest features of Zuora invoice presentment. In order to take advantage of these features, you must update your invoice PDF templates. The update will automatically migrate your tenant to the new PDF generation service.

Zuora will continue to maintain and operate the legacy service until June 30, 2017, at which time it will be removed from service. Any tenants still using the legacy PDF service after June 30, 2017 are automatically migrated.

To further minimize the small risk of presentment errors, you should update your templates prior to June 30, 2017 and test PDF output to ensure that new service produces the expected results.

For more information on how to update to the new invoice file generation service, see Upgrade to New Invoice File Generation Service.

Adyen Configuration Change Requirement for Using Zuora Non-Referenced Refunds

Starting with this release, when enabling non-referenced refunds with Adyen, the webservice user account specified in the Zuora Username field of the Credentials panel must have Adyen's Store payout detail permission assigned to it. Please contact Adyen support to request this permission.

For more information, see Adyen Gateway.

Zuora Connect Integration Now Supported with Multi-Entity

It is now possible to enable the My Connect section in your Zuora tenant if you have the Multi-entity feature enabled. See Connect for more information about Zuora Connect.

Describe API Call

The Describe API call provides a reference listing of the business objects that are available in your Zuora tenant. For each business object, the Describe API response contains implementation details about the object’s fields.

The implementation details returned by the Describe API call include API field names, data types, and possible values. This information is useful if you are creating a data source export through the Zuora API. See Export ZOQL for more information.

See "Describe object" in the Zuora API Reference for how to use the Describe API call.
