Getting started with Zuora CPQ for Dynamics 365

The development of Zuora CPQ for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales has encountered data sync issues and other challenges, causing it to be brought back to the Beta phase from EA. As a result, it will not be deployed to production environments until further notice. The development team is actively seeking feedback and continuously making improvements before making it to the EA phase.

Overview

Zuora CPQ for Dynamics 365 is an application that runs on the Microsoft Extended Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement platform. With this application, your sales teams can easily build customer-ready quotes, using your Zuora subscription catalog, and send the resulting accounts and subscriptions immediately to Zuora for invoicing and subscription management.

It enables you to guide your sales reps through even the most complex deals. The application allows your sales team to configure product bundles, determine to price for the components of the bundle, and generate detailed quotes to secure a customer order.

In Zuora CPQ for Dynamics 365 workflow, a quote involves:

  • A customer account and contact.
  • An optional opportunity linked to that customer.
  • A quote, linked to the opportunity or to the customer account, which contains the details of a proposed subscription including a catalog product, a rate plan, and one or more rate plan charges which can be edited.

The quote page displays all this information about the proposed contract. Zuora CPQ for Dynamics 365 can create a PDF version of the quote, formatted and styled for your company. When a deal is reached, clicking a button sends the quote to Zuora, which creates a corresponding subscription and manages it from that point forward - invoicing, collecting payment, auto-renewal, etc.
