Link tenant users to OneID

This article describes how to link or unlink tenant users to your OneID user, and set the default tenant in OneID.

Before accessing a Zuora tenant with OneID, you must link a tenant user in that tenant to your OneID user. The linking is a one-time job. After linking a tenant user, you can access the tenant with OneID whenever you need, without entering credentials for that tenant.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have an active tenant user account. If you need help, check with your tenant administrator.

Link a tenant user

To link a Zuora tenant user to your OneID user, take the following steps:

  1. Click your avatar in the upper right of the OneID portal, and click Profile. The user profile page opens.
  2. In the Linked Users section, click New Local User. The link user window pops up.
  3. Specify tenant and user information in the window:
    1. From the Tenant Id list, select a tenant the tenant user belongs to.
All Zuora tenants in your organization are listed here, except those linked to your OneID user.
    2. Enter the tenant user name in the User Name field.
    3. Enter the tenant user password in the Password field.
  4. Click Link.

If the tenant credentials are verified successfully, the tenant gets linked to your OneID user and displayed on the user profile page.

Unlink a tenant user

You can unlink a tenant user that you do not need to access from your user profile.

To unlink a tenant user, take the following steps:

  1. Click your avatar in the upper right of the OneID portal, and then click Profile. The user profile page opens.
  2. In the Linked Users section, find the Zuora tenant you want to unlink from your user profile in the table.
  3. Click Unlink. A confirmation dialog opens.
  4. Click Confirm in the confirmation dialog. You can find the tenant user is unlinked and removed from the table.

Set the default tenant in OneID

You can set a Zuora tenant as the default tenant of your user profile. When you log in to OneID via single sign-on (SSO), OneID will automatically access the default tenant, and opens the home page of that Zuora tenant for you. For more information, see Access Zuora tenants with OneID.

Before setting the default tenant, ensure you have linked at least one tenant user to your OneID user. For more information, see Link a tenant user.

To set the default tenant, take the following steps:

  1. Click your avatar in the upper right of the OneID portal, and click Profile. The user profile page opens.
  2. In the Linked Users section, find the Zuora tenant that you want to set as the default tenant in the table.
  3. Click Set Default. You can find Set Default changes to Default Tenant, which indicates the selected tenant is the default tenant for your user profile now.

Do I have to link a tenant user to my OneID user?

No, only if you need to access Zuora tenants with OneID. By linking a tenant user to your OneID user, you can access the Zuora tenant with OneID without entering credentials for each tenant.

Typically, if you are a OneID standard user, you should link at least one tenant user to access Zuora tenants with OneID.

If you are a OneID organization admin, your primary task in OneID is managing user access, not accessing Zuora tenants. Link a tenant user to your OneID user only if you need to access Zuora tenants with OneID.

For more information about the relationship between OneID users and tenant users, see Distinguish OneID users from tenant users.

Limitations

  • You can link a tenant user only if the user belongs to a Zuora tenant in your organization.
  • You can link at most one tenant user of each Zuora tenant to your OneID user.
