Configure a verified sender email address for the Statement Generator

Before you can use the Statement Generator to send statements to your customers via email, you must configure a verified sender email address. This ensures that statements appear to be from your organization.

For more information about configuring the Statement Generator to send statements via email, see Configure the Statement Generator feature.

Configure a verified sender email address

To configure a verified sender email address:

  1. In the Statement Generator, click the Settings tab, then click the Emails sub-tab.

  2. In the From Emails section, click SET NEW FROM ADDRESS. The "Set new from email address" dialog box opens.

Enter an email address that belongs to your organization, then click Verify. Zuora sends a verification email to the email address that you entered.

Zuora can send a maximum of 10 verification emails per day. To avoid reaching this limit, ensure that you have access to the email inbox before you click Verify.

  3. Follow the instructions in the verification email, then click Finish Verification in the "Set new from email address" dialog box.

  4. Close the "Set new from email address" dialog box.

After you have configured a verified sender email address, Zuora displays the verified sender email address in the From Emails section. Zuora will use this email address when generating statements.

Configure Amazon SES email settings

When SPF validation is used, the receiving email server examines the SPF record of the sender's domain to determine whether the sender is authorized to send emails to that domain. In this case, only a verified identity can provide a valid SPF. Zuora requires a verified domain to send an email on your behalf using your FROM email address.

To set up the verified domain, follow the instructions below:

  1. Add "include:amazonses.com" in your domain's DNS settings for the SPF record.
This setting in your SPF record informs receiving mail servers that Amazon SES is authorized to send emails on your behalf, which can help prevent your emails from being blocked or routed to the spam or junk filters.
  2. Submit a request for DNS CNAME records to Zuora Global Support, including the From Email address you want to use. You get three CNAME records.
  3. Add the three CNAME records to your domain’s DNS settings for DKIM verification.
The verification process could take up to 72 hours.
  4. After configuring the Amazon SES email, contact Zuora Global Support to finish the configuration on the Zuora end.

Notes and limitations

  • You can only configure one verified sender email address per instance of the Statement Generator. If you need to change the verified sender email address that you have configured, submit a request at Zuora Global Support.

  • After you have configured a verified sender email address for one instance of the Statement Generator, you cannot configure the same email address as a verified sender email address for a different instance of the Statement Generator.
