REST API

See API Changelog for a summary of REST API updates and documentation updates in the Zuora API Reference.

Orders and Subscriptions

The Orders feature is now generally available with the following new features and enhancements.

Native Ramps in Orders

This feature is currently available in the Sandbox environment only. It will become available in the Production environment on September 10.

With the Ramps feature, you can now create and manage ramp deals in a single Order through the Orders UI, Orders API, and Zuora CPQ with a native Ramp configured in your Order. You can report out-of-the-box Ramp Metrics to easily overview the bookings for ramp deals and understand the history and relationship of changes across the years. The Ramps feature works end to end from Zuora CPQ to Zuora Revenue without the need to customize ramp deals.

See the following resources for more details.

Orders Harmonization

This feature is currently available in the Sandbox environment only. It will become available in the Production environment on September 10.

If you are an existing Subscribe and Amend customer, and want to leverage Orders, Orders Harmonization helps you to transition to Orders easily. Previously, to adopt Orders, you had to migrate all your existing integrations on Subscribe and Amend APIs to use the new Orders REST APIs. With the Orders Harmonization feature, you can continue to use Subscribe and Amend APIs and also use Orders APIs and Orders UI to create and manage your subscriptions. You do not need to go through full migration in order to use Orders related functionality.

See more details in Orders Harmonization.

Support for the Update rate plan charge trigger condition feature in Orders

A new feature called "Update rate plan charge trigger condition" has been added on Orders to support updating the trigger condition of a rate plan charge directly. With this feature, you can now update the rate plan charge trigger condition from the subscription details page before a charge is invoiced. You can also use the CRUD: Update rate plan charge operation or the Update action to make the update through the Zuora API. See Updating the Trigger Condition for a Subscription Rate Plan Charge for a tutorial.

To use this feature, you must set the “Update rate plan charge trigger condition?” setting to Yes in Billing SettingsDefault Subscription and Order Settings. This feature is disabled to Orders customers by default.

For Subscribe and Amend customers, Zuora introduced this setting and it is set to Yes by default. You can turn it off if you want.
