Transactions/Cost Upload

With Transaction/Cost upload, you can manually upload the transactions or cost lines in the form of data files without any dependency of upstream integration.

Different transaction types required different mandatory fields in the uploaded file. For more information, see Mandatory Fields of Transactions.


Before the transaction or cost data is uploaded, you must configure an RC grouping template to define how to form the revenue contract and assign the SSP hierarchy.

  1. Navigate to RevPro > Policies > RC Grouping Template to open the Revenue Contract Templates page.
  2. Click New Template
  3. In the Definition tab: 
    1. Enter a valid template name and also the effective date of the template in Start Date field.
    2. Select the relevant rule from the Stage Processor list.
    3. Select the Enabled check box to enable the newly created template that can be used for uploading.
    4. Click Save.
  4. In the Grouping Rules section, click + to add a new row for specifying the grouping rules.
    1. Enter the rule name.
    2. Click the Actions link to edit the grouping criteria.
    3. In the Group By section, select a field in Available Fields, and move it to Selected Fields using the right arrow button.
    4. In the Time-Based Grouping section, select the duration type. When you select Day(s) as the duration type, the Base Date and Duration fields are enabled.
    5. Click Save.
  5. In the Filters tab, click + to create a new filter.
    1. Enter the name, operator, and operand for creating the filter criteria.
    2. Select the Enabled check box to list the data based on the filter criteria.
    3. Click Save.
  6. In the SSP Hierarchy tab, click + to add a new hierarchy.
    1. Enter a value in the SSP Template, SP Below Range, SP Within Range, and SP Above Range fields.
    2. Select the Enabled check box to enable the newly created template that can be used for uploading.
    3. Click Save.


To upload transactions or cost data, complete the following steps: 

  1. Navigate to RevPro > File Upload > Transactions/Cost.
  2. On the Transaction Upload page, click New Template.
  3. Enter a valid template name for the RC grouping template. The New Transaction Upload Template page is displayed.
  4. In the Template Definition tab:
    • Select an RC grouping rule based on which the transaction lines are grouped to form a revenue contract.
    • Enter a valid name for the template.
    • Select the Enabled check box to enable the template.
    • Select the Is Review Required check box if you want to manually review the uploaded transaction data before launching the data collection process. 
  5. In the File Specifications section:
    • Select the file type. If the uploaded file is not in the specified format, an error message is displayed.
    • Select the date format to validate the date value in the uploaded file. If the date value format in the uploaded file is different from the template, an error message is displayed.
    • Select the start row to identify the row number from which the actual data gets inserted into the staging table from the uploaded file. For example, start in row 2.
  6. Click + to create the template and Save to save the details. The Freeze button appears when you click Save.
  7. Click the Field Mapping tab to view the field names, their label, and the type of the data that is entered in the fields. You can view, add, or delete them. 
  8. In the Field Mapping tab:
    1. Click + to create a new field name if you wish to add a new field.
    2. Select the Count check box to count the number of lines uploaded.
    3. Select the Sum check box to calculate the total value for a particular field.
  9. After entering the field mapping details, click Freeze to lock the template so that no changes can be made in the template. The name of the button changes to Unfreeze.
  10. Click Unfreeze to make the template available for editing. Make the necessary changes and then click Freeze.
  11. Navigate to RevPro > File Upload > Transactions/Cost.
  12. On the Transaction Upload page, select the newly added transaction upload template. Right-click and select Download Template.
  13. Add the raw data in the template excel.
  14. On the Transaction Upload page, select the newly added transaction upload template, right-click and select Upload.
  15. In the File Upload tab, click Browse to select the CSV file to which you have added your raw data. The selected file name is displayed in the Template Name field.
  16. Click Upload to upload the CSV file to the Transaction/Cost template. A success message is displayed stating that the file was successfully uploaded. The newly uploaded file is listed in the Uploaded Files section with the status as Successfully Uploaded.
  17. In the Uploaded Files section, the following details are displayed:
    • File Name – Name of the uploaded CSV file.
    • Download File – Link to download the uploaded file.
    • Status – A success message is displayed if the upload is successful. An error message is displayed if the upload is not successful.
    • Message – Count of the success or failures that occurred while uploading the file.
    • Next Action – This link gets enabled after successfully uploading the file. When you click the Next Action link, the data collection process gets started.
    • RC batch – The generated batch ID number along with the batch status. The batch status can be: 
      • Data Collected - If data is collected successfully
      • Warning - If there is any mismatch in the data
      • No Data Found - If the uploaded file does not have any data
  18. Right-click the uploaded file and select View Data to view the file summary and file data.
  19. The File Summary tab lists the count of the records loaded.
  20. The File Data tab lists the batch IDs and the file details.
  21. Right-click the uploaded file and select View Revenue Contract to view the CSV file and its associated revenue contracts. The book name and relevant RC ID related details are listed.
  22. Right-click the uploaded file and select Export to export the uploaded CSV file to your local system.
