Multiple changes are made on the Revenue Contract Details page and these changes are introduced tab by tab in this article:

Some fields are added to this tab to provide information about subscriptions and charges. Some fields that are not relevant to Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue integration scenarios are removed.

  • The following fields are added:
    • # of Subscriptions: The total number of unique subscriptions in the revenue contract.

    • # of Charges: The total number of unique charges in the revenue contract.

  • The following fields are removed:
    • COGS Released
    • COGS Capitalized
    • Other Cost Released
    • Other Cost Capitalized

Contracts/Orders tab

Most changes to this tab are introduced to present the existing data at the rate plan charge level and/or at the charge segment level.

New fields

New fields are added to this tab to present the subscription-related information for each line.

  • These new fields include the following:
    • Subscription Name

    • Subscription Version

    • Rate Plan Charge Number

    • Rate Plan Charge Segment

    • Parent Charge Number

    • Parent Charge Segment

    • Revenue Start Date

    • Revenue End Date

  • The above fields are also available in the following pop-up windows when you click one of the following menu options:

    • Release/Defer POB (when you click Release/Defer POB at the RC level)
    • Delink (when you click Delink at the RC level and then select POB or Line as the delink method)
    • Apply/Release Holds (when you click Apply/Release Holds at the RC level and then select POB or Line as the hold level)
    • Link RC/POB/Lines (when you click Link RC/POB/Lines at the RC level and then click the POBs or Lines tab)

Charge view

A new view option named Charge View is introduced to view the transactions at the charge level. The Switch to POB and Switch to Line button is extended to be a drop-down list with all the view options, which includes Line View, POB View, and Charge View as shown in the following graphic.

When you click Charge View on the list, each unique charge in the revenue contract is displayed as a single line in this table. Besides, the available layouts are dependent on your selection of this drop-down list. For example, when you click Charge View, only the layouts that are eligible for the charge level will be displayed for the Layout list.

Charge layout

A standard layout named Charge Layout is added for the Charge view. You can also create a layout that is specific for the Charge view only.

  • The Charge Layout displays the line details at the rate plan charge level. This standard layout is available for the charge view. When you select this layout, all the charge segments in the contract are rolled up at the rate plan charge level.

For example, there are six charge segment lines in the revenue contract and they are from two rate plan charges. If you choose to display the revenue contract at the charge level, the six charge segment lines are rolled up as two unique charge lines and displayed as two lines in this tab.

  • In the New Layout window (as shown in the following graphic), when you create a layout, you can explicitly indicate whether the layout is for the charge level by using the Charge Level toggle switch.

Charge segment layout

A standard layout named Charge Segment Layout is introduced. The Charge Segment Layout displays the transaction details at the charge segment level.

For example, there are two rate plan charges in the revenue contract and each rate plan charge has three charge segments. If you choose to display the revenue contract based on this layout, six charge segment lines will be displayed.

Holds

Holds are defined at the RC, POB, and line level. However, there is a provision to apply or release these holds at the charge level, which will apply the hold to all the charge segments underlying the charge.

For example, if you apply a hold at the charge level, this hold will be applied to all the lines under this charge. Similarly, if you release a hold,  all the lines under this charge will have their holds released. The line-level hold is also applied in a similar way.

Link and Delink

The linking and delinking functionality is extended to support the charge-level and subscription-level linking and delinking. Role-based access control (RBAC) is also applied to delinking functionality, which means the availability of this delinking functionality can be controlled based on user roles.

When a charge is linked or delinked, all its charge segment lines and associated discount lines will be linked or delinked. When a subscription is delinked or linked, all the associated regular charges and discount charges are delinked or linked.

The following changes are visible in the UI:

  • The Link RC/POB/Lines menu option is renamed as Link. This change is mainly to extend the linking functionality to support the charge-level and subscription-level linking. After you click the Link menu option, you can select the appropriate link method to specify the level to take the linking action as shown in the following graphic.
