ARCHIVED - Billing connector for Salesforce CPQ

ARCHIVED - Billing connector for Salesforce CPQ

This article offers guidance on how to integrate Salesforce CPQ account with your Zuora instance.

This feature is in the Early Adopter phase. We are actively soliciting feedback from a small set of early adopters before releasing it to all customers. To join this early adopter program, submit a request at Zuora Global Support.

SFDC(SalesForceDotCom) is currently the most prevalent CPQ in the market. Focussing on the sales persona makes quoting easy and allows the sales representatives super flexibility to structure winning deals.

CPQ provides accurate pricing with any given product configuration scenario initiating sales on any device within the cloud platform. However, the efficiency required to compute the billing and finance patterns, such as expected due, invoice requirement from a customer, process a bill from a customer, close their books, audit the transactions, disclose revenue, etc., is inaccessible. To associate the usage of CPQ with Zuora's robust auditing, compliance, billing, payment, and revenue capabilities, synchronize the data records from SFDC CPQ to Zuora Billing. Following are the ways in which you can do this:

  • Zuora SFDC CPQ Connector - Regulate and configure an overly customized CPQ.
  • Build your own IPaaS - Use simple APIs to manage your middleware.

  • Custom objects and fields in SFDC CPQ can be mapped to custom objects and fields in Zuora.
  • Connect two systems with pre-configured data mapping through out-of-the-box connector flows.
  • Streamline business sales activities using Zuora to provide the necessary compliance and auditing backend for finance teams.
  • Enjoy flexibility from quote to contract, subscription, and invoice.

Limitations in Zuora and SFDC CPQ connector

  • Zuora CPQ connector has no control over the gaps in Salesforce CPQ, nor can it overcome such impediments.
  • The connector works uni-directionally from SFDC CPQ to Zuora Billing. Only for customers using Zuora 360 any changes made to Zuora Billing will get updated in Salesforce.
  • Salesforce is the master of product catalogue and subscription.
  • If Subscriptions and Assets are not linked to an order in Salesforce, Zuora billing platform will generate orders and link subscriptions to that order in Zuora.
  • Subscriptions in Zuora can only be deleted manually. The status of a deleted subscription in Zuora is updated to Cancelled.
  • The sync job currently supports only up to 50 records per execution per object.
  • The EA version of the connector will only support on-demand sync. The scheduler job will not be enabled for this version.
  • Negative quantity is applicable only on the “per unit” charge model.
