Support for stored credential transactions overview
To comply with the Stored Credential Transactions framework, certain configurations are required in your Zuora tenant. The configuration includes the following categories:
Payment methods
Zuora supports stored credential transactions for credit card payment methods only.
Payment gateways
Currently, the following gateway integrations in Zuora support stored credential transactions:
If you use a gateway not in the preceding table, Zuora will process payments as usual, but the payments will not comply with the Stored Credential Transaction framework.
Stored credential profiles
Zuora supports stored credential profiles with the Recurring type only. Such a stored credential profile indicates that you have obtained the customer’s consent to initiate future transactions at regular intervals.
When configuring your Zuora tenant, your goal should be to contain an Active stored credential profile for the credit card payment methods created on the preceding gateway instances.
Limitations
Currently, the following limitations are applicable to the support for stored credential transactions:
- The stored credential profiles with “Unscheduled Credential on File” (UCOF) is not supported yet. Zuora plans to support UCOF transactions at a later date.
- Zuora supports stored credential profiles with the “Recurring” type only.
- The transactions through the credit card payment methods created using the following API operations are not stored credential transactions by default:
- Subscribe
- Create account
- Create an account using Create
- CRUD: Create payment method
- Create order
- Create order asynchronously
