Part 1: Familiarize Yourself with the Zuora User Interface

The Zuora merchant user interface provides you with sophisticated capabilities to define your subscription product pricing and manage your subscribers. Before diving into your actual implementation, familiarize yourself with the Zuora user interface.

When you log in to Zuora, you will see the following key user interface elements:

Left Navigation Bar

Use the links in the left navigation bar to access key objects in your Zuora tenant:

  • Customer Accounts: The full list of your customers, including detailed contact and billing information for each customer.
  • Product Catalog: Your subscription product and pricing definition.
  • Subscriptions: The full list of subscriptions for your customers, including all amendments that have been made to subscriptions (for example, subscription upgrades or downgrades).
  • Billing Operations: The full list of your customers' invoices, as well as functionality you can use to generate invoices, upload customer usage data, and perform adjustments to invoices.
  • Reports: Zuora data query and reporting capabilities.
  • Payment Operations: The full list of your customers' payment and refund history, as well as the functionality you can use to collect payments and issue refunds.

Top Navigation Bar

This navigation bar provides access to the following:

  • Settings: Spend a few minutes clicking the different links under this menu item to familiarize yourself with the settings that you can configure within your Zuora tenant.
    • Personal Settings: Adjust settings like your personal user profile and your password.
    • Administration Settings: If you are a Zuora administrator for your tenant, this allows you to adjust tenant-level security policies, add new users and roles, and manage your tenant profile information.
    • Z-Billing Settings: Adjust settings related to your product catalog, customer accounts, subscriptions, and invoice generation.
    • Z-Payments Settings: Adjust payment settings, including payment methods accepted and payment gateway information.
    • Z-Force Settings: Adjust configuration settings relating to your Z-Force implementation.
  • Help: Opens the Zuora Knowledge Center (this site). 
  • Support: Allows you to create a support ticket. 
  • Logout: Click this to log out of the Zuora user interface. 

Main Application Window

You will perform most of your work within this main application window. Based upon where you are within the application, this main window will dynamically adjust to show lists of objects within the system (for example, products, customer accounts, or subscriptions), allow you to view the details on a specific object, allow you to create new objects, and allow you to edit existing objects.
