Invoicing

Memo Item Creation from Discount Invoice Items and Negative Invoice Items

This feature is only available if you have Invoice Settlement enabled. The Invoice Settlement feature is generally available as of Zuora Billing Release 296 (March 2021). This feature includes Unapplied Payments, Credit and Debit Memos, and Invoice Item Settlement. If you want to have access to the feature, see Invoice Settlement Enablement and Checklist Guide for more information.

Zuora has enhanced the Invoice Settlement feature to support the following operations through both the Zuora UI and REST API:

  • Create credit memo items or debit memo items from discount invoice items.
  • Create credit memo items or debit memo items from negative invoice items.
  • Create taxation items of credit memo items or debit memo items from those of the corresponding discount invoice items.
  • Create taxation items of credit memo items or debit memo items from those of the corresponding negative invoice items.

When creating credit or debit memos from invoices, you can use the "Available to credit validation for credit memos" billing rule to control whether to validate the "Available to Credit" amount of the invoices.

Subscription Preview and Amendment Preview Now Clearly Reflects Credit Memos

This feature is only available if you have Invoice Settlement enabled. The Invoice Settlement feature is generally available as of Zuora Billing Release 296 (March 2021). This feature includes Unapplied Payments, Credit and Debit Memos, and Invoice Item Settlement. If you want to have access to the feature, see Invoice Settlement Enablement and Checklist Guide for more information.

The Subscription Preview page and Amendment Preview page now display credit memos and credit memo items in dedicated tables.

Previously, the Subscription Preview page displayed credit memo items as negative invoice items; the Amendment Preview page did not display credit memos or credit memo items.
