  • Customer Account Search Enhancement for New Bill Runs
  • Enhancement for Creating Credit and Debit Memos from Charges

REST API

See API Changelog for a summary of REST API updates and documentation updates in the API Reference.

Orders and Subscriptions

Resolved: Subscription Owner Automatically Selected for Amendment Orders

Previously, when you created an amendment order from a subscription detail page, the Account field on the Create New Order page would be automatically selected as the subscription owner. However, in the case that the subscription's invoice owner did not equal the subscription owner, the subscription to amend would be inaccessible. This issue has been fixed. The invoice owner will now be automatically selected instead of the subscription owner.

Billing

Customer Account Search Enhancement for New Bill Runs

When creating bill runs through the Zuora user interface, you can now search for specific customer accounts based on name, account number, and "name or account number" more efficiently.

In the Single Customer Account tab on the New Bill Run page or on the "New Scheduled or Recurring Bill Run" page, the following radio buttons are now available for account search enhancement:

  • Name
  • Account Number
  • Name or Account Number

Previously, only customer account search by "name or account number" was supported for new bill runs.

Enhancement for Creating Credit and Debit Memos from Charges

The Invoice Settlement feature is generally available as of Zuora Billing Release 296 (March 2021). This feature includes Unapplied Payments, Credit and Debit Memos, and Invoice Item Settlement. If you want to have access to the feature, see Invoice Settlement Enablement and Checklist Guide for more information. After Invoice Settlement is enabled, the Invoice Item Adjustment feature will be deprecated for your tenant.

Starting from this release, Zuora supports the creation of credit and debit memos from any type of product rate plan charge through the Zuora user interface or REST API operations. The charges can also have any amount and any charge model, except for discount charge models.

Previously, Zuora only supported one-time flat-fee negative charges for creating credit memos, and one-time flat-fee positive charges for creating debit memos.

Generation of Multiple Taxation Items for Invoice Items Spanning Different Tax Rate Periods

This feature is in Limited Availability. If you want to have access to the feature, submit a request at Zuora Global Support

When you use Zuora Tax for tax automation, Zuora now supports the generation of multiple taxation items for an invoice item spanning different tax rate periods. One taxation item is generated for each rate.

To use this feature, you have to set the "When service period of an invoice item crosses multiple tax rate period, it will generate:" billing rule to Multiple Tax Items. Note that this feature is not supported yet for the tenants with the Invoice Settlement or Order Metrics feature enabled.

Previously, only one taxation item was generated for one invoice item in Zuora Tax.

See Define Billing Rules and Generation of Multiple Taxation Items for more information.

Payments

Support for Gulf Management Systems Payment Gateway

Zuora now provides integration with the Gulf Management Systems payment gateway to process ACH transactions. You can use this payment gateway to perform the following operations:

  • Validate ACH payment methods
  • Create ACH payments
  • Refund ACH payments

See Gulf Management Systems Payment Gateway for more information.

User Permission to Control Access to Data Exports

You can now control access to Reporting > Data Exports via a new Reporting permission called Enable Exports. Users with the Enable Exports permission can run and view data exports. By default, all users in your Zuora tenant have the Enable Exports permission.

The Enable Exports permission does not affect all export links within the Zuora user interface. Users without the Enable Exports permission can use some export links to directly download data from your Zuora tenant. See Reporting Roles for more information.
