Re-authenticate tokens used for GoCardless Real-Time Reconciliation
Zuora is implementing an infrastructure update to improve the user experience of Real-Time Reconciliation enablement across all available integrations. This update might impact the reconciliation of transaction data from GoCardless on certain tenants. If you are using the GoCardless Real-Time Reconciliation service, complete the tasks described in this article to prevent any service disruptions. Specifically, verify the token status and re-authenticate the token if necessary within the following timeframe:
- Sandbox environments: before April 26, 2024, PDT
- Production environments: before July 8, 2024, PDT

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can GoCardless Real-Time Reconciliation work properly before July 8, 2024 if I don't re-authenticate the account credentials in the "Authentication Required" status?
A: Yes, your Real-Time Reconciliation solution with GoCardless will operate as expected before July 8, 2024, regardless of whether you re-authenticate your account credentials. However, failure to re-authenticate the credentials by that date will result in service disruption starting from July 8, 2024.
Q: What happens after July 8, 2024 if we don’t re-authenticate account credentials in time?
A: Zuora will not be able to communicate correctly with GoCardless to receive the webhook notifications for your account, leading to a potential gap in events such as chargebacks or payment rejections.
Q: Do I need to go through this re-authentication flow if the status of my credential is "Active"?
A: No. Only accounts that have a status of Authentication Required need to make this change.
Q: What if I don’t recall my merchant credentials with the gateway?
A: Your merchant credentials are managed between you and the gateway, so we recommend engaging your account manager at GoCardless for assistance with retrieving your credentials.
Q: After I have updated my credentials, do I need to change any settings or update my gateway integration to the new credentials?
A: No, you will not need to do anything besides go through the re-authentication flow as long as you are not generating a new set of credentials by clicking Create Authentication. If you do create authentication instead, you will need to update your gateway instances to associate with the new credentials.
Q: If we aren’t using Real-Time Reconciliation with GoCardless yet and we see an "Authentication Required" status, do we still need to take action?
A: No, you do not. If you are not using the service and do not plan to use it before July 8, 2024 2024, there is no impact on your organization.
Q: If we are unable to make this change in time, are exceptions allowed?
A: No, this change does not allow for exceptions so please plan on making the changes before the dates provided.
