Clone a Quote using New Clone Quote button

In the Version 10.5 and later of Zuora Quotes, you can click the New Clone Quote button to clone a new subscription quote, amendment quote, or renewal quote in a shorter turnaround time. 

Currently, Quote cloning is only available for existing billing accounts or primary contacts. 

Add New Clone Quote button to Quote layouts

  1. In your Salesforce org, click Setup and select Setup. The Setup homepage opens.
  2. Under Object Manager, click the Zuora CPQ Quote (​​zqu__Quote__c) object.
  3. Click Page Layouts in the left navigation menu, and click Quote Layout - Default V8.0 layout. This layout determines the components exposed on the Quote Detail page for a New Subscription Quote. 
  4. From the box at the top in the main region, click Buttons in the left pane or Mobile and Lightning Actions if using Salesforce Lightning.
  5. Drag and drop the New Clone Quote button to the custom buttons section area in the Quote Detail section (or the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section for Lightning).
  6. Click Save to save the configuration.
  7. Repeat steps 3, 4, 5, and 6 for Quote Layout - Amendment v8.0 and Quote Layout - Renewal V8.0.

Clone a New Subscription Quote

  1. On the Quote Detail page of the quote you want to clone, click the New Clone Quote button as shown below.

  1. You are redirected to the Quote Studio of the newly created cloned quote.
  2. Optionally (but recommended), change the Quote Name to distinguish this Quote Record as a clone.
  3. Create any desired T&C updates or add, update, remove product actions, then Save or Submit the Quote. On the Quote Detail page, you can take any action, whether sending for approvals, generating PDFs, or Sending to Zuora.  

Note: The New Quote Clone functions like a standard New Quote Record. Therefore, all clones, including the source Quote (original Quote from which the clones were created), can be sent to Zuora as unique Subscriptions. 

Clone an Amendment or Renewal Quote

  1. On the Quote Detail page of the Amendment or Renewal quote you want to clone, click the New Clone Quote button.
  2. You are redirected to the Quote Studio of the newly created cloned quote.
    • You will notice both the Original Products and Updated Products or Updated T&C Actions created in the source Amendment Quote intact in the newly cloned Amendment Quote Record. 
  3. Modify the Amendment Quote Clone as desired.
  4. Optionally (but recommended), change the Quote Name to distinguish this Quote Record as a clone.
  5. Click Save or Submit. Now you will have two (or more) Amendment Quote records for the same Subscription Amendment version. 

Note: You can send only one Amendment / Renewal quote record to Zuora that modifies that same version of the Subscription. Attempting to send more than one Amend/Renewal cloned record would result in an error.
