Invoicing and Tax
Generate billing documents based on document status and transactions
Previously, Invoice PDFs were automatically regenerated with each customer transaction, such as refunds, invoice item adjustments or payments. However, it is now possible to configure whether or enable or disable invoice PDF regeneration after a transaction or for specific billing document statuses. For example, PDF regeneration can be disabled after the initial invoice is posted so that it will remain unchanged even after payments or refunds are applied. Configuration for the following options can be achieved separately in Manage Billing Document Configuration > Settings.
- Allow PDF generation for draft billing documents
- Allow PDF generation for billing documents being posted
- Allow PDF generation for billing documents when Payments, Refunds, etc. are applied
Toggling of these settings will apply the changes to all billing documents (i.e. allow PDF generation for draft billing documents will apply the setting for generation of invoices, credit memos, and debit memos). This configuration is specific to HTML templates.
Zuora Payments
Payments
Braintree v2.0 payment gateway integration available
A new version of the Braintree payment gateway integration called Braintree v2.0 is now available in Zuora. It integrates with the Braintree GraphQL API to support processing Credit Card Reference transactions and Level 2 and Level 3 card data.
For more information about the Braintree v2.0 payment gateway integration, see Overview of payment gateway integration for Braintree.
Support for creating tokenized SEPA payment methods on Adyen
On Adyen Integration v2.0, you can now create tokenized SEPA payment methods by using the Create a payment method API operation through either of the following approaches:
- Set the
tokenize
field totrue
and pass inIBAN
. Tokens will be generated and stored for the payment method for recurring payment requests. - If the SEPA payment method has already been tokenized outside of Zuora and you want to create it in Zuora, pass in the existing tokens and the masked account number.
We also support tokenizing SEPA payment methods while processing payments. A new setting called Tokenize payment method is now available on the configuration page of the Adyen gateway instance. With this setting enabled, tokens will be generated for SEPA payment methods when processing payments through Adyen Integration v2.0.
This feature is generally available in Sandbox environments. To enable it in Production environments, submit a request at Zuora Global Support.
For more information, see Tokenize SEPA payment methods on Adyen Integration v2.0.
Support for creating tokenized BACS payment methods on Stripe v2
On Stripe v2 payment gateway integrations, you can now create tokenized BACS payment methods through any of the following approaches:
- Use the Create a payment method API operation and pass in existing tokens and the masked account number.
- Create the payment method through the UI and tokens will be automatically generated and stored for the payment method for recurring payment requests.
The support for passing in existing tokens through the API operation is generally available in Sandbox environments. To enable it in Production environments, submit a request at Zuora Global Support.
Previously, we have supported the creation of tokenized payment methods on Stripe through the following approaches:
- Hosted payment pages
- Use the Create a payment method API operation to pass in the account number and the fields that are required by Stripe for validating the tokenized payment method. Tokens will be generated and stored for the payment method.
For more information, see Overview of Stripe payment gateway integration.
