Enable CPQ X for your organization
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to enable CPQ X.
CPQ X is contained in the Zuora Quotes package (version 10.0 or above). Therefore, how you can enable CPQ X depends on whether you are an existing user of Zuora Quotes. You can enable CPQ X only after you have installed or upgraded to Zuora Quotes version 10.

- If you have set up an earlier version of Zuora Quotes but did not enable CPQ X, see Instructions for users who have set up Zuora Quotes.
- If you have set up an earlier version of Zuora Quotes and enabled CPQ X for your org, you can still access CPQ X after upgrading to the latest version of Zuora Quotes.
Instructions for new Zuora Quotes users
If you are new to Zuora Quotes, you should install the latest version of Zuora Quotes, then enable CPQ X for your org.
Prerequisites
- Ensure that you have set up your Salesforce org.
- Ensure that you understand CPQ X limitations.
- Ensure that Orders or Orders Harmonization is enabled for your Zuora tenant. See Enable and Configure Orders for more information.
Steps
Take the following steps to enable CPQ X
- Submit a request at Zuora Global Support to ask for the latest Zuora Quotes package link, and provide your Salesforce Org ID that has Orders enabled.
- Install Zuora Quotes.
- Navigate to the installation package link provided by Zuora and log in to Salesforce as a system administrator. The installation page opens.
- Select Install for All Users.
- If you are new to Zuora Quotes, click Install for All Users, select the Yes, grant access to these third-party web sites check box to enable the Amplitude service, then click Continue. The installation starts, and you will receive a notification email when the installation completes.
Note: Amplitude is a service that allows Zuora to understand how features are used. It is exclusively used for product improvement purposes, and no personal identifiable information (PII) is stored or shared.
- Navigate to Zuora Config > Quote Studio Settings > Admin Config.
- Click the Enable CPQ X button. Then CPQ X is enabled for your Salesforce org.
What to do next
Then you can set up Zuora Quotes based on your business needs and ensure the following requirements are met before configuring CPQ X:
- The Store Existing Products setting in Advanced Quoting Configuration Settings is enabled.
- The Default Trigger Dates setting in Quote Configuration Settings is enabled.
Instructions for users who have set up Zuora Quotes
If you have set up an earlier version of Zuora Quotes, you should upgrade to the latest version of Zuora Quotes, then enable CPQ X for your org.
Prerequisites
- Ensure that you understand CPQ X limitations.
- If you have installed an earlier version of Zuora Quotes, ensure that the following requirements are met:
- Orders or Orders Harmonization is enabled for your Zuora tenant.
- Orders is enabled in the Salesforce org.

To ensure Orders is enabled in the Salesforce org, navigate to Zuora Config > Advanced Quote Configuration Settings > and make sure the Orders Enabled setting checkbox is checked. If it is not checked, navigate to Enable and Configure Order to learn how to enable Orders in your Salesforce Org.

- The Default Trigger Dates setting in Quote Configuration Settings is enabled.
Steps
Take the following steps to enable CPQ X:
- Upgrade Zuora Quotes to the latest version. See Zuora CPQ Release Notes to check the latest version.
- Navigate to the installation package link provided by Zuora and log in to Salesforce as a system administrator. The installation page opens.
- Select Install for All Users.
- Click Upgrade. The installation process starts, and you will receive an automated email when the installation completes.
- To get CPQ X enabled for your org, submit a request at Zuora Global Support and provide your Salesforce Org ID that has Orders enabled. Zuora Global Support will enable CPQ X for you.
