Subscription limits

Subscriptions per account

The default maximum number of subscriptions allowed on an account is 12,000. However, if you have overridden the value of this limit for your tenant, the value will remain according to your configuration.

If you need a larger amount that exceeds the default limit, you can request a limit increase by submitting a request at Zuora Global Support

At the largest, you can request to increase the limit to 80,000 subscriptions per account. However, Zuora does not recommend you to increase the limit to 80,000 unless this maximum limit matches your business case. To enable the 80,000 limits, you also need to submit a request at Zuora Global Support to enable the Bill run optimization for large accounts setting.

Note that the method that Zuora uses to calculate the number of existing subscriptions on an account is explained as below.

When you create a new subscription on an account, the start and end dates of the subscription determine a time frame. When calculating the number of existing subscriptions on the account, Zuora only counts in those existing subscriptions that have a time frame that overlaps with the new subscription to be created. The time frame of an existing subscription is also determined by the start and end dates of the existing subscription. For an evergreen subscription, this time frame is without an end date.

Charges per subscription

Zuora has the following limits on a single subscription:

  • Up to 5000 rate plan charges are allowed.
  • The maximum number of rate plans depends on the average number of rate plan charges per rate plan. For example, if the average of rate plan charges per rate plan is five, up to 1000 rate plans are allowed in total.

You are recommended to create at most 50 rate plan charges on average for all subscriptions in your tenant.
