Insights tracks the actions that users perform in your application. When a user performs multiple actions without leaving your application, Insights records a single session of activity by the user. Depending on the configuration of your application, Insights may assume that a user has left your application after 30 minutes of inactivity.

You can view historical data about the number of sessions that Insights recorded for a user. You can also view historical data about the number of sessions that Insights recorded for all the users in an account.

View Session History for an Account

View the Number of Sessions per Day

To view a graph of the number of sessions per day:

  1. On the account profile page, select the Trends tab.
  2. Click Sessions.

The account profile page displays a graph of the number of sessions per day. For example:

Hover over the graph to view the number of sessions on each day.

View the Number of Sessions per Calendar Week

To view a graph of the number of sessions per calendar week:

  1. On the account profile page, select the Trends tab.
  2. Click Metrics, then select Total Sessions per Week from the pick list.

The account profile page displays a graph of the number of sessions per calendar week. For example:

Hover over the graph to view the number of sessions in each calendar week.

View the Number of Sessions Within a Time Frame

To view the number of sessions within a time frame:

  1. On the account profile page, select the Account Events tab.
  2. In the Range field, select one of the predefined time frames.

The account profile page displays the number of sessions within the specified time frame (Total Sessions). For example:

An upwards or downwards arrow indicates whether the number of sessions has increased or decreased since the prior period.

View Session History for a User

View the Number of Sessions per Day

To view a graph of the number of sessions per day:

  1. On the user profile page, select the Trends tab.
  2. Click Sessions.

The user profile page displays a graph of the number of sessions per day. Hover over the graph to view the number of sessions on each day.

View the Number of Sessions per Calendar Week

To view a graph of the number of sessions per calendar week:

  1. On the user profile page, select the Trends tab.
  2. Click Metrics, then select Total Sessions per Week from the pick list.

The user profile page displays a graph of the number of sessions per calendar week. Hover over the graph to view the number of sessions in each calendar week.

The current value of the Total Sessions per Week metric is also displayed on the Overview tab of the user profile page. See Using Account Dashboards for more information about the Overview tab.
