Zuora 2025.Q3 release notes
Learn about new features, changes, fixes, and deprecations delivered in Zuora 2025.Q3 product release and subsequent release updates for Zuora Billing, CPQ, Payments, Platform, Revenue, and Zephr.
Zuora publishes release notes in advance of delivery to sandbox environments to allow additional time to review and test new and changed features before they are released to production environments. These release notes are subject to changes and additions after publishing. Any changes or additions that occur after the initial publish for a particular release version are noted with a date in the Updated column in each release note table.
Customer-impacting changes delivered after the initial major release, as part of minor or patch releases during the quarter, are also added to the release notes. The minor and patch release notes are listed in order starting from the most recent release version at the top of each table. The specific minor or patch release version is noted in the Updated column. An empty Updated column indicates that the release note applies to the major release and was not added or changed after the initial publish date.

Product Catalog
Zuora’s Product Catalog now includes a Dynamic Pricing framework, allowing you to calculate prices in real time based on attributes and contextual business inputs. The system supports both Attribute-Based Pricing as well as Dynamic Pricing, which computes the price at runtime using factors such as customer segment, location, sales channel, session behavior, and product configuration. With Dynamic Pricing, you can:
This feature simplifies your catalog by reducing the need to create numerous product variations. It also helps you manage complex pricing across different customer types, regions, or usage scenarios, giving you a flexible, scalable way to deliver the right price to the right customer. Note: This feature is in the Early Availability phase. We are actively soliciting feedback from a small set of early adopters. If you want to join this early availability program, submit a request at Zuora Global Support. See Dynamic Pricing. |

Invoicing and Tax
To meet global e-invoicing compliance, Zuora now supports multi-format downloads for billing documents that the tax authorities or networks have approved. You can retrieve official e-invoice documents in formats including XML, UBL, PNG, or QR codes that each country requires or supports. This capability is available for Zuora’s e-invoicing with Avalara integration. You can download these documents as pre-set default or on demand, ensuring flexibility and compliance with country-specific e-invoicing mandates. |
Invoicing and Tax
We have enhanced the contact list view on the Customer Accounts page to remember whether it was collapsed or expanded, so you don't have to do it manually every time. The system retains the last setting every time you visit this page. |
Invoicing and Tax
Zuora now supports the Regenerate E-Invoice capability for billing documents for the PEPPOL service provider. When a PEPPOL-format file has already been generated, the e-invoice status of the billing document is set to Generated. You can now trigger the Regenerate E-Invoice action to correct data and generate a new PEPPOL file if needed. This capability is specific to the PEPPOL service provider and is available for the following billing document types:
Invoicing and Tax
We have enhanced the e-invoicing clearance process. With this enhancement, if more than one business region is matched while submitting the billing document, the system blocks the submission, and the E-Invoice status fails with an error message. See Configure e-invoicing business regions and Generate e-invoice files for billing documents |
Invoicing and Tax
We have enhanced the handling capability of E-Invoice Timeouts. With this enhancement, E-Invoice updates its status to ‘RetrieveTimeOut’ when responses from tax vendors such as Sovos or Avalara take too long. You can use the ‘Resync E-Invoice Status’ action to update the status automatically once the vendor responds successfully. You can view these updates in System Health telemetry to give you a better view of the e-invoice processing journey.
Invoicing and Tax
Zuora Audit Trail supports tracking changes to billing documents and their associated items, providing greater visibility and traceability for key financial records. The Audit Trail supports the following objects:
Billing documents and their items are not enabled by default. To begin tracking changes, you must enable each object type in Audit Trail Settings. You can choose to enable only the specific objects that meet your compliance or operational needs. |
Invoicing and Tax
We have simplified the user experience of the Bill Period and Bill Cycle Day Settings page. This simplification and the rearranged sections enable you to expand each section and select or deselect all options in each section with a single click. |
Invoicing and Tax
We have introduced the capability of deleting a saved Advanced Filter for bill run via the UI. This capability helps to remove unused filters and keep the list up to date to prevent accidental misuse. |
Invoicing and Tax
With this release, Zuora supports assigning communication profiles at the subscription, Order Line Item (OLI), and standard invoice levels. Now, billing documents inherit the correct profile based on the object they originate from. This enhancement allows for more tailored and consistent customer communication across billing documents and notifications, providing greater flexibility and control for managing customer messaging.
Invoicing and Tax
We have added more flexibility to the bill run process by introducing configurable options to separately or jointly include Subscriptions and Order Line Items (OLIs). This enhancement allows you to have better control over invoice generation and align billing workflows with operational needs.
See Create bill runs |
Invoicing and Tax
Zuora now supports advanced configurability for the Direct Avalara Engine Integration through a new Advanced Settings section in the UI. This enhancement allows you to customize request templates, headers, and response field mappings to better align with your specific business needs. By default, Advanced Settings is disabled, and the integration uses Zuora’s standard request and response mappings. You can choose to enable Advanced Settings to gain greater flexibility and tailor the integration to your preferred configuration. |
Invoicing and Tax
A new tax status, Voided, has been added to the Tax Status field on the detail view of Invoices, Credit Memos, and Debit Memos, as well as in the API. This enhancement improves tax reconciliation in scenarios where invoice posting fails, but the tax has already been committed to a third-party tax engine, such as Avalara or OneSource. In such cases, the invoice remains in Draft status in Zuora, while the tax transaction exists on the vendor’s system. To resolve this mismatch, Zuora now runs a scheduled job that detects such committed-but-unposted tax transactions and automatically voids them on the vendor’s side. Once voided, the Tax Status field in the UI and API is updated to Voided, ensuring consistency between Zuora and the tax vendor. This field and status are only applicable when using third-party tax engines and are available on Invoices, Credit Memos, and Debit Memos via both the UI and the API. See View Invoices and View information of credit and debit memos. |
Invoicing and Tax
You can now reference custom Foreign Exchange (FX) rates directly in HTML invoice templates using the new FXCustomRate object. This enhancement allows template designers to retrieve and display custom FX rates without duplicating data in a separate custom object. It also provides a consistent and efficient way to display tax or pricing amounts in multiple currencies. For example, if a customer in Australia is billed and taxed in USD, the invoice can now also display the tax amount in AUD using the custom FX rate object. Previously, exchange rates had to be stored in custom objects and referenced manually in the template. |
Invoicing and Tax
We’ve added the following new fonts to the HTML Editor for billing document templates and statement templates:
These fonts offer enhanced support for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (CJK) characters, improving visual consistency and readability of your templates across different languages and regions. You can select these fonts within the editor and generate PDFs using them. |
Orders and Subscriptions
A new functionality has been added to skip the system behavior of carrying forward the ramp definition from the previous term during the subscription renewal. You can now manually create a ramp in the renewal term. If you want to enable this functionality, submit a request to Zuora Global Support. Previously, if a subscription had a ramp, the system always carried the ramp definition from the previous term to the renewal term automatically. |
Orders and Subscriptions
You can now choose either the subscription-invoiced or subscription-owned (by the account) option when amending the subscriptions through the Orders UI. If you want to enable this functionality, submit a request to Zuora Global Support. Previously, we were able to amend only the subscription-invoiced by the account. See Create subscriptions, Create consolidated invoices for parent accounts, Update products in subscriptions, Replace products in subscriptions, Suspend subscriptions, Renew subscriptions, Change owners of subscriptions, Add products to subscriptions, Remove products from subscriptions, Change terms and conditions of subscriptions, and Resume subscriptions |
Orders and Subscriptions
You can now update the Notes field in a subscription when creating new orders through API.
Orders and Subscriptions
A new Scheduled Actions section has been added under the Additional Information tab in the subscription details page of the Single Version Subscription. This section contains the following fields:
You can edit the above details if required. |
Orders and Subscriptions
We have enhanced our Orders UI by adding pagination and search box (by Product Name or Rate Plan Name) under the Included Products tab in the Associated Subscriptions area to provide support for subscriptions with a large number of rate plans. |
Orders and Subscriptions
We have enhanced our Orders, Order Line Items, and Order Actions UI to provide support for additional advanced custom fields to utilize its functionality across all the integrated applications. |
Orders and Subscriptions
We have enhanced our Orders UI and API to provide support for dynamic pricing when subscribing to a new rate plan and renewing a subscription. The list price of charges is determined based on the pricing attribute values. For usage charges, you can also define a negotiated price table via Orders API. This table is used to calculate usage charges' prices dynamically when the usage records are processed. This feature is in the Early Adopter phase. We are actively soliciting feedback from a small group of early adopters before releasing it as generally available. If you want to join this early adopter program, submit a request at Zuora Global Support. |

We have updated the Browse Product window behavior. When the Browse Product Modal “Selections” button is enabled and configured in Zuora Config > Quote Studio Settings > Restricted Access Config, the Selections option in the Browse All Products and Rate Plans window is non-editable, and only the number of selected products is displayed. In Zuora Quotes version 10.48, when this setting is enabled, the Selections option is hidden. | 10.49 |

The Dynamic Pricing feature in Zuora Tenant and Zuora CPQ is in the Early Availability phase. |
We have added a new method to the zSendToZBilling global class, sendToZBillingWithMultiAccounts. This method works similarly to the sendToZBilling method, but can send Quotes from multiple accounts to Zuora in a single transaction by grouping Quotes by account. Zuora recommends using multiple quotes of a maximum of five different accounts in one sendToZBillingWithMultiAccounts call. Using a high volume of Quotes from multiple accounts can cause your organization to hit Salesforce limits. However, this number varies based on your custom implementation. To use this method, you must enable the Zuora Config > Quote Studio Settings > Admin Config > Multi-Subscription Quoting setting. For more information, see Send to Billing Method. |
10.48 |
CPQ X
Salesforce Administrators can now configure custom fields on the Product (zqu__ProductSearchFields) and Product Rate Plan (zqu__ProductRatePlanSearchFields) field sets to make them searchable in the Browse Product window and in the Search Products and Rate Plans search bar on the Quote Details page. This enhancement makes it faster and easier for administrators to find the right products and rate plans during quoting. |
10.48 |
CPQ X
We have introduced the Charge Item or Charge Detail window for discount and non-discount charges. To view the window, click the charge name in the Rate Plan Charge table in Quote Studio UI. This window is available for non-discount charges when you add relevant fields to one of the following field sets or if the Dynamic Pricing feature is activated.
By default, the following Discount field sets have some fields added:
The window is unavailable if you remove all fields from the field sets. All fields added to the field sets are editable on the screen, even if the Billing API does not support editing a field for a particular scenario, such as updating an existing charge. |

We have increased the limits for creating, amending, and renewing child quotes for Multi Subscription Quoting.
10.48 |
CPQ X
We have added a new method, JR_recalculateInvoiceItemSummaries to the QuoteRecalculateController global class. This method makes the subscription preview call to Zuora, updates the Invoice Item Summaries with the results, and returns the response. Invoice Item Summary records are generated only if the Summarize Invoice Item setting is turned on in Zuora Config > Quote Studio Settings > Admin Config. For more information about the new method, see QuoteRecalculateController Class. |
10.48 |
CPQ X
We have introduced a new feature, Browse Product Modal “Selections” button in Zuora Config > Quote Studio Settings > Restricted Access Config. 10.48 |
CPQ X
We have introduced a new setting, Skip Tax Calculation, in Zuora Config > Quote Studio Settings > Admin Config. When this setting is enabled, tax calculations are skipped during billing preview requests and while saving preview metrics. Additionally, we have optimized the quote-saving process by reducing the number of SOQL queries and DML operations through bulk processing. With fewer DML operations, trigger executions are also minimized, which reduces the overall time required to save a quote |
10.48 |
CPQ X
We have enhanced the Quote Studio UI to prevent the creation of new Quote records each time the user refreshes the page. Refreshing the Quote Studio UI page no longer creates a new record in the database. | Note: For users with custom permissions, access to the QuoteIdentifier__c field must be enabled in the Quote__c object.10.48 |
CPQ X
With the Flexible Billing Attributes and Multiple Currencies feature enabled in the Zuora tenant and Flexible Billing enabled in Zuora CPQ, you can now have subscriptions under the same account in different currencies. A new custom field, Subscription Currency, has been added to the Quote object to store the subscription's currency. Ensure the currency you are trying to use is active in the Zuora tenant. For more information, see Enable and use Flexible Billing Attributes in CPQ X. |
10.47 |
CPQ X
We have added Quote Preview functionality on the CPQ X Lightning Quote Detail Page (CPQ_X Quote Detail Form) using the zqu__Is_Charge_Expired__c field. For more information, see Quote Detail Page for Lightning Experience. | 10.47 |
CPQ X
Under Advanced Quoting Configuration Settings, a new setting, Enable Prepaid With Drawdown, has been added. Enabling this setting allows you to retrieve prepaid balance data via API calls for subscriptions, which helps reduce unnecessary calls for customers not using prepaid drawdown. Previously, every time you clicked the New Quote (New) button, an API call was made to fetch prepaid balance details. This occurred even if the Prepaid with Drawdown feature was not enabled in the tenant, resulting in an Invalid Type error from the API. |
10.47 |
CPQ X
Quote Studio now supports Multi-Org. This feature allows:

We have extended the QplanReader global setting with a new ExtendedSetting class and setReadAllRatePlans method. Using the QplanReader.load global method, you can retrieve all available QuoteRatePlans on ramp quotes. For more information, see QPlanReader Class. | 10.47 |
CPQ X
Starting from this version, when a subscription with ramp intervals is amended or renewed with the ramp intervals disabled, Zuora CPQ will no longer send the ramp intervals information to Zuora Billing. Previously, the removed ramp information was sent to Zuora Billing. | 10.47 |
CPQ X
Quote Studio now displays delta metrics after removing a product when creating an amendment or renewal quote in Multi Subscription Quoting. | 10.47 |
CPQ X
We have introduced a new hidden text field setting called Skip Entity Formula Recalculation. By default, this text field setting is set to blank and accessible to Zuora support. To modify the settings to skip recalculations for any object, contact Zuora Global Support. | 10.47 |
CPQ X
Info-type log records are now recorded to capture logs for Send to Zuora information. The logs include timestamps for when the request was sent, when the response was received, and the duration to receive the response. Duration is the time difference between the request sent and the response received. | 10.47 |
CPQ X

Also, as part of this release, we have updated our Zuora Quotes End User, Zuora Quotes Product Admin, and Zuora Rules End User Permission Sets. It is advised to have at least the Zuora Quotes End User permission set assigned to the user for the normal quoting flow. If you are using your custom permission set for users, then you can verify permissions existing on the Zuora Quotes End User with your custom permission set and adjust your custom permission set to align with the Zuora Quote End User permission set. Ensure the permission sets are updated to include changes from the Quotes version 10.46 onwards. |

Enrichment Operator: You can now use enhanced filters to match events to the appropriate charge segment based on their timestamp. This ensures the pricing reflects what was active at the time of the event. If you do not apply any filter, the current timestamp will be used to determine the charge segment. Rating Operator: A new Event Time field allows the system to determine the charge segment that was active when the event occurred, improving pricing accuracy for tiered or time-based charges. If you leave the field blank, the current timestamp will be used to identify the charge segment. |

Quickstart API
Zuora offers two sets of APIs for Billing, Payments, and Platform: the v1 API (the REST API) and the Quickstart API.
Zuora's v1 API provides complete coverage to our Zuora Billing, Payments, and Platform features. Zuora's Quickstart API represents a simplified programmatic experience and a subset of coverage for common e-commerce use cases. While often erroneously referred to as the v2 API, the Quickstart API is NOT a replacement for the v1 API and is no longer recommended for new integrations. See Quickstart API Reference.
Developers who need to access the full breadth of Zuora Billing, Payments, and Platform functionalities should use the v1 API, or our v3 SDKs (v1 for C# SDK) that are built on the v1 API.
