This article describes how to create a new quote.

New Quote Flow in Classic Guided Product Selector

To add products to a quote for a New Subscription:

  1. Click New Quote Flow to add products to a quote for a New Subscription.
  2. Click Add Base Products. A list of products and their rate plans display. In this step, only the products whose Category field is set to "Base Products" or "Miscellaneous Products" appear.
    • The page includes the Guided Selling Step title, a search box, and a list of products and rate plans.
    • You can search product names and rate plan names to narrow down the product rate plan selection list.
  3. Click the checkbox next to the product rate plans to select them for the quote.
  4. Click Add and Next to add the base products and move to the next step.
  5. In the Add Add On Products step:
    • A list of products and their rate plans display. In this step, only the products whose Category field is set to "Add On Services" appear.
    • You can search product names and rate plan names to narrow down the product rate plan list.
  6. Click the checkbox next to the products and rate plans to select the add-on products to the quote.
  7. Click Add to add the selected products and rate plans to the quote.
  8. Click Previous to go back to the first flow to add more base products. 
    WarnNavy2.png Even after you clicked Add, if you click Previous, you lose your current selection of products and rate plans.
  9. Click Done to close the Guided Product Selector.

On the Choose Product and Charges page, you can update or remove selected products as described in Select Products and Charges for a Quote

To add more products, click New Quote Flow and re-open the Guided Product Selector.

New Quote Flow in Lightning Guided Product Selector

To add products to a quote for a New Subscription:

  1. Create a quote from the Opportunity Detail page, the Account Detail page, or from the Quotes tab.
  2. On the Selecting Billing Account and Quote Type page:
    1. Select the account if it has not been selected yet.
    2. Select the billing account.
    3. Select the quote type: new subscription for this account from the Choose Quote Type pick-up list.
    4. Click Next.
  3. On the Provide Quote, Account and Subscription Term Details page:
    1. Enter the Quote Details fields including Quote NameValid Until, and so on.
    2. Select the Payment Method and enter the other necessary Customer Account Details fields.
    3. Enter the Subscription Terms and Conditions fields for your subscription, including Start Date, Initial Term, Renewal Term, and so on.
    4. Click Next.
  4. On the Edit Product and Charges page, click the Select button to display the Add Base Products and the Add Add On products steps for a New Quote Flow.
  5. Click Add Base Products. A list of products and their rate plans displays. In this step, only the products whose Category field is set to "Base Products" appear.

    The page includes the Guided Selling Step title, a search box, and a list of products and rate plans. You can search product names and rate plan names to narrow down the product rate plan list.

    1. Click Add to add a product to your quote. Click Select to add a rate plan. You can click the same button again to cancel your selection.
    2. Click NEXT.
  6. In the Add Add On Products step, a list of products and their rate plans display. In this step, only the products whose Category field is set to "Add On Services" appear.

    You can search product names and rate plan names to narrow down the product rate plan list.

    1. Click Add to add a product to your quote. Click Select to add a rate plan. You can click the same button again to cancel your selection.
    2. Click NEXT.
  7. On the Edit Product and Charges page:
    1. To clone a product rate plan, click the down arrow next to the rate plan name and click Clone.
    2. To remove a product rate plan, click the down arrow next to the rate plan name and click Remove.
    3. To view or update any custom fields configured to be displayed:
      • For any custom fields at the Quote Rate Plan level, click the down arrow next to the rate plan name and select Edit Rate Plan. You can then view and update the custom fields, for example, the Specific Update Time field.
      • For any custom fields at the Quote Amendment level, click the down arrow next to the rate plan name and select Edit Amendments. You can then view and update the custom fields, for example, the CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE DATE and SERVICE ACTIVATION DATE fields for a product rate plan.

        This feature is only available if you have the Orders feature enabled. 

    4. You can make field updates to a product rate plan charge, for example, updates to the BILL CYCLE DAY field, the DISCOUNT % field, and so on.

      If you have any custom fields at the Quote Rate Plan Charge level, this is where you can view and update them in your quote.

    5. To add more products, click the ADD PRODUCTS button to display the guided selling flow and follow the guided selling steps.
    6. Click Save to save your updates.

    See the table below for the tag types that represent your operation to a product rate plan when you edit the products and charges.

    Tag Name Operation to Product Rate Plan
    ADDED ON <yy-mm-dd>

    Used when you have performed one of the following operations: Clone, Edit Amendments, Update Fields, or Add Products

    REMOVED ON <yy-mm-dd> Used when you have removed a product rate plan
  8. Click Submit to view and confirm your new subscription quote on the Quote Detail page.
  9. Click Send to Zuora on the Quote Detail page  .
  10. On the Order Preview page, click Submit to send the subscription quote to your Zuora tenant.

New Quote Flow in Lightning Guided Product Selector for Ramp Deal

If you are an existing Zuora Subscribe and Amend customer, we recommend you enable Orders Harmonization to access the Orders feature. With Orders, you can access both existing functions for subscription and billing management and the new features on Zuora Billing.

To create and manage ramp deals in a new subscription flow:

  1. Create a quote from the Opportunity Detail page, the Account Detail page, or from the Quotes tab.
  2. On the Selecting Billing Account and Quote Type page:
    1. Select the account if it has not been selected yet.
    2. Select the billing account.
    3. Select the quote type: new subscription for this account from the Choose Quote Type pick-up list.
    4. Click Next.
  3. On the Provide Quote, Account and Subscription Term Details page:
    1. Enter the Quote Details fields including Quote Name, Valid Until, and so on.
    2. Select the Payment Method and enter the other necessary Customer Account Details fields.
    3. Specify the Ramp Frequency and the Specific Ramp Frequency fields to enable a ramp deal:
      • Ramp Frequency: Specifies how often a ramp should occur.
      • Specific Ramp Frequency: A number of months for a ramp period. This field is required when you set the Ramp Frequency field to Specific Months
    4. Enter the Subscription Terms and Conditions fields for your subscription, including Start Date, Initial Term, Renewal Term, and so on.
    5. Click Next.
  4. On the Edit Product and Charges page, click the Select button to display the Add Base Products and the Add Add On products steps for a New Quote Flow.
  5. Click Add Base Products. A list of products and their rate plans displays. In this step, only the products whose Category field is set to "Base Products" appear.

    The page includes the Guided Selling Step title, a search box, and a list of products and rate plans. You can search product names and rate plan names to narrow down the product rate plan list.

    1. Click Add to add a product to your quote. Click Select to add a rate plan. You can click the same button again to cancel your selection.
    2. You can click Edit below the selected rate plan, click the Edit_Button.png icon, and select a ramp period for the rate plan to start in.
    3. Click NEXT.
  6. In the Add Add On Products step, a list of products and their rate plans display. In this step, only the products whose Category field is set to "Add On Services" appear.

    You can search product names and rate plan names to narrow down the product rate plan list.

    1. Click Add to add a product to your quote. Click Select to add a rate plan. You can click the same button again to cancel your selection.
    2. You can click Edit below the selected rate plan, click the Edit_Button.png icon, and select a ramp period for the rate plan to start in.
    3. Click NEXT.
  7. On the Edit Product and Charges page, the products and charges will appear in Lightning Guided Product Selector grouped by ramp periods per your selection in the ramp frequency field.
    1. To clone a product rate plan, click the down arrow next to the rate plan name and click Clone. You can only clone the product rate plan in the first ramp period. The cloning action cascades to all future ramp periods.
    2. To view or update any custom fields configured to be displayed:
      • For any custom fields at the Quote Rate Plan level, click the down arrow next to the rate plan name and select Edit Rate Plan. You can then view and update the custom fields, for example, the Specific Update Time field.
      • For any custom fields at the Quote Amendment level, click the down arrow next to the rate plan name and select Edit Amendments. You can then view and update the custom fields, for example, the CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE DATE and SERVICE ACTIVATION DATE fields for a product rate plan. 
    3. To remove a product rate plan, click the down arrow next to the rate plan name and click Remove
      • A RemoveProduct action will be registered as of the start date of that ramp period.
      • Removing a future segment removes the rate plans in all the following ramp periods.
    4. You can make field updates in any ramp period to a product rate plan charge, for example, updates to the BILL CYCLE DAY field, the DISCOUNT % field, and so on.
      • When you edit the charge information on a ramp period, the change cascades to all future periods.
      • Cascading actions will not override previously set future dated changes.

      If you have any custom fields at the Quote Rate Plan Charge level, this is where you can view and update them in your quote.

    5. To add more products, click the ADD PRODUCTS button to display the guided selling flow and follow the guided selling steps.
    6. Click Save to save your updates.

    See the table below for the tag types that represent your operation to a product rate plan when you edit the products and charges.

    Used for:

    - A rate plan appearing in the first ramp period as you initially select products in the new quote flow

    - A rate plan added by either of the following operations: Clone, Add Products

    REMOVED ON <yy-mm-dd> Used when you have removed an 
    ADDED ON <yy-mm-dd> rate plan
    RAMP PRODUCT ADDED

    Used for:

    - A rate plan appearing in a future ramp period as you initially select products in the new quote flow

    - A rate plan created by a cascaded Clone or Add Products operation originated from the first ramp period

    RAMP PRODUCT UPDATED Used when you have performed the Edit Amendments or the Update Fields operation to a RAMP PRODUCT ADDED rate plan
    RAMP PRODUCT REMOVED Used when you have removed a RAMP PRODUCT ADDED rate plan
  8. Click Submit to view and confirm your new subscription quote on the Quote Detail page.
  9. Click Send to Zuora on the Quote Detail page  .
  10. On the Order Preview page, click Submit to send the subscription quote to your Zuora tenant.
