Add Your States

For this example, we add three states to the user state map canvas as follows:

• Engaged

  We define engaged end users as those who view five or more pages of content each day. To do this, complete the following steps:

  1. Drag the New State node to the user state map canvas, on the same side as the Registered state

     The Add a New State dialog box displays.

  2. Enter Engaged in the Title text box
  3. Enter View 5 or more pages a day in the Description text box
  4. Select the Add button
• VIP

  We define VIP end users as those who view ten or more pages of content each day and have a Gold subscription. To do this, complete the following steps:

  1. Drag the New State node to the user state map canvas, on the same side as the Registered state

     The Add a New State dialog box displays.

  2. Enter VIP in the Title text box
  3. Enter View 10 or more pages a day and have a Gold subscription in the Description text box
  4. Select the Add button
• Lapsed

  We define Lapsed end users as those who have not viewed any content in the last week. To do this, complete the following steps:

  1. Drag the New State node to the user state map canvas, on the same side as the Registered state

     The Add a New State dialog box displays.

  2. Enter Lapsed in the Title text box
  3. Enter No views in last week in the Description text box
  4. Select the Add button

Note: You cannot save the User State Map until you have added transitions.
