Configure Site Domains

Site domains allow you to use Zephr from various domains while connecting to the same origin. You can specify domain overrides to expose URLs, allowing end-users to reach your site through the Zephr CDN.

To configure site domains, select the Site Domains button in the Add a Site screen. The Domains screen displays, as illustrated below:

Zephr automatically generates the following subdomains by default, in addition to those established on the Environment screen:

  • yourorganisation-sitename-environmentname.non-prod.cdn.zephr.com.
  • {yoursite}.{yourorganisation}.preview.zephr.com.

You can test your site using either one of the subdomains mentioned above. Once your site is live, use the {yoursite}. {yourorganisation}.preview.zephr.com subdomain to stage and test your rules before publishing them.

On this screen, you can perform the following actions:

  • Configure a domain

From this screen, you can configure the following:

    • Site domains
    • Preferred environments
  • Track the progress of the domain set-up.

After configuring your site domains, click the Done button to return to the Add a Site screen.

Add a Site Domain

To add a site domain, complete the following steps

  1. Select the Add a Domain button in the Domains screen.

The Add a Domain dialog box is displayed.

  2. Enter the domain in the Domain text box.

Note: Do not use your real domain until you are ready to go live. Enter your real domain when you are ready to trigger the go-live process.

  3. Select the appropriate environment for the domain from the Environment radio buttons.
  4. Click Save. Selecting the Cancel button returns you to the Domains screen without adding a domain

After going live, you must add all domains used in your base URL and any subdomains. For example, the www.zephr.com and zephr.com domains and shop.zephr.com subdomains. For further information on going live, see the Go-Live Guide.

Set Preferred Environments

If multiple domains are available, select the appropriate domain name from the dropdown list next to the corresponding environment in the Preferred Domain section to set or change a domain as the preferred environment.

You must set one preferred domain for each environment:

  • Preferred live environment
  • Preferred staging environment

After going live, set your live domain to the preferred live environment to ensure that all service emails from Zephr contain the correct link. If you set a different domain as the preferred environment, the previously selected preferred environment is automatically unset. If you unset a preferred environment, an error message will inform you that a preferred domain is required for each environment.

Track Progress

When the domain has an In Progress status, you can check the steps taken to set up the domain setup.

To track the progress, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the ellipsis icon adjacent to the relevant domain.
  2. Select Track Progress. The Track Domain Setup Progress dialog box is displayed.

  3. Click OK.

Delete a Domain

To delete a domain, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the ellipsis icon adjacent to the relevant domain.
  2. Click Delete. The domain will be removed from the list of domains.

The pre-generated default domains cannot be deleted.
