Why Use User Stores?
User Stores offer flexibility and clarity in how users are managed across brands, websites, or authentication sources. For example, a publisher might operate multiple websites, such as a gardening site and a cooking site. Without User Stores, all users are managed under a single tenant. That means if a user registers on one site, they will be recognized across all sites, even if they haven’t explicitly signed up there. This can create a confusing user experience, as users may not expect their account to be shared across unrelated brands or sites.
With User Stores enabled:
- The same email address can exist in multiple user stores, for example, one for each site.
- Users are isolated by store; registering on one site does not carry over to another unless intentionally configured.
- Each site can operate independently, while still being part of the same Zephr tenant.
User Stores help you:
- Organize users based on their source of authentication.
- Filter users to find specific groups faster.
- Display the user’s store in the user list, so you know which system manages their identity.
